When Mommy Parties sent out the email saying I was selected as a host for the Nutella Breakfast Bar party, I was overjoyed. I only recently discovered the joys of Nutella, a delicious cocoa hazelnut spread. I was a little concerned because my package ended up being delivered to the wrong house and the box sat in the freezing cold for at least a few days, but despite the warnings against refrigerating Nutella, it survived unscathed and was delicious as always.
Look at all these goodies! Each person at the party got to take home a bag filled with a coupon, recipes, information, a branded spreader and a great coffee mug.
For those who haven’t heard of Nutella, here is a little bit of info from the index cards that came with my party package:
- Each 13 oz jar of Nutella contains more than 50 hazelnuts.
- Nutella does not contain any trans fat or hydrogenated oil.
- Compared to other popular butters, Nutella is low in sodium.
- Nutella does not contain any artificial colors or preservatives.
Nutella is also completely free of peanuts and peanut products. In fact, it doesn’t even come into contact with peanuts during manufacturing. This makes it an great alternative for those with peanut allergies.
During the breakfast bar party, we tried Nutella with several different healthy accoutrements, including whole-wheat flat bread, pancakes made with Splenda, and whole-grain English Muffins. I’m a traditionalist, I prefer it straight on the flat bread. However, it did taste great on the pancakes too. I wish I had better pictures of the different ways we tried Nutella, but I’m a horrible food photographer. Food never looks the way it does in the professional pictures!
