I have a massive Amazon wish list. Actually, I have seven massive Amazon wish lists, all perfectly categorized by fiction, non-fiction, video games, Jake’s movies, Jake’s book list, etc and so on. Either I have OCD when it comes to wish lists, or I’m just really organized! I like the think the latter, but I’m willing to bet it’s the former. So I thought it would be fun to share a few of my “most wanted” upcoming releases, and maybe you can tell me your most wanted so I can add even more stuff to my list, because goodness knows one can never have too many books on their “must read” list, especially with summer rapidly approaching (although you wouldn’t know it by the weather here today!) The list is in no particular order, and I have no idea why James Patterson can’t get in line with the rest. I’ve tried everything, but he’s determined to be a rebel!

The Kane Chronicles, The, Book Two: Throne of Fireby Rick Riordan

Releases May 3, 2011

The second book in Riordan’s trilogy about Carter and Sadie, two children of a famed Egyptologist, and their adventures in a world populated by Egyptian gods and pharaohs. I loved the first one, and can’t wait to find out what happens next!

10th Anniversary (Women’s Murder Club) by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro

Releases May 2, 2011

I’ve read all the other books in the series and enjoyed the very short-lived TV show about this group of women from very jobs (police detective, medical examiner, lawyer and newspaper reporter) who get together and solve crimes, commiserate over losses, and celebrate each others victories. The chapters are short and the books fly by, making them great for afternoon beach reading.

Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, Book 5) by Ilona Andrews

Release Date- May 31, 2011

One of my favorite urban fantasy series. Kate Daniels is tough, but not annoyingly so, and I’m looking forward to seeing how she handles her new place in the world of the shape-shifters. The first book in this series is one of the first urban fantasy books I ever read, and is pretty much what put me on the path to my new obsession.

Hexes and Hemlines: A Witchcraft Mysteryby Juliet Blackwell

Release Date- June 7, 2011

Lily Ivory is one of the most adorable witches ever to own a second-hand store. These books are just plain old murder-mystery with a paranormal twist fun from start to finish, complete with a cute little pig familiar. If you’re looking for something that doesn’t require a whole lot of thought, something to keep your mind off the rest of the world for a few hours, give them a try.

Vision Impossible: A Psychic Eye Mystery by Victoria Laurie

Release Date- July 5th

Abby Cooper’s antics always provide hours of reading enjoyment, and now that she’s moved on from the world of office psychic to a full-fledged FBI civilian consultant, she’s sure to get into even more mischief. Another fun series that doesn’t require too much concentration to follow.

The Devil Colony: A Sigma Force Novel by James Rollins

Release Date- June 21, 2011

I know it’s completely different from the other books on my list, but I’ve been reading James Rollins since back in his semi-cheesy Subterranean days. He struck gold with the Sigma force novels, each with an element of…I’m not sure if paranormal is the right word, maybe parascience? Whatever it is, he combines the bizarre with the covert and offers up exciting yet intelligent novels.

Graveminder by Melissa Marr

Release Date- May 17, 2011

I’ve read all the YA books in the Wicked Lovely series, and I’m really curious to see how Marr does with novels for adults. The early reviews are mixed, but I think I’ll find out for myself, since I really like her writing style. The cover is certainly more bleak than her YA series!
