Time for another Tiny Prints post. I love these because they let me write about whatever I want within a set of guidelines. This time, the choices all had to do with how I handle blogging conferences. Well, I’ve never been to one yet (too expensive or too far away), so I can’t really answer that question. However, I have been to other business conferences (more like Expos) where I get a lot of business cards and have a chance to hand out my own (which my mom made for me on the computer the day of the event to promote my freelance writing business), so I went with the other question: How do you organize your conference business cards? Both the ones you hand out and the ones you receive?
Now, I’d like to say that I am this great, organized person that has all the business cards in a nice little organizer of some sort, but I’m not. Mostly, I just throw them all into one little bag and sort through them later. If I ever get to go to a blog conference or someplace where I can make legitimate contacts (versus the people who just want to pave my driveway or help me pick the best place to have open heart surgery), then I will come equipped with some sort of fancy little binder. I love binders. You can put anything in one of those. When I’ve really come up in the world and start actually making a substantial living off of what I love (writing, in case you haven’t guessed), then I’ll even splurge and get myself a fancy little decorative case to put my own cards in, rather than the side pocket of the same little cosmetic bag that holds cards from other people. Yes, it’s a cosmetic bag. But it’s cute! Some day I’ll get there! Someday I’ll be able to afford to go to a super-cool blogging conference and get to meet all the awesome bloggers that I stalk around the internet. But for now, my little cosmetic bag and side pocket work pretty well for holding the meaningful cards that I receive. For those of you who’ve already arrived, Tiny Prints makes really cute and professional looking business cards in a variety of styles.
