GIANTmicrobes Introduces the Bone CellGIANTmicrobes is releasing a new edition to their collection just in time for Halloween. No skeleton would be complete (literally) without the Bone Cell, and in just a few days, you can get your very own plush version of this very important little cell. I’m so lucky because I got to get a peek at him before he comes out. Isn’t he adorable? I was particularly excited about him because Jacob and I spend a lot of time talking about the different cells in the body, particularly in the bones. I know, strange conversation topic for a six year old, but it all started when he was constantly freaking out over every little cut and scrape. I explained to him how blood cells were made in his bone marrow, and we kind of went from there. He still freaks out over every little cut and scrape, but at least now he has more knowledge of human micro-anatomy than most kids his age!

Like all GIANTmicrobes plushies, Bone Cell was made to look as close to the real thing as possible. Of course, our real bone cells don’t have eyes, just like real flesh-eating disease cells don’t come with their own knives and forks, but the basic structure is similar to the real deal, which makes them a really great learning tool in addition to being just plain fun.

Looking for even more awesome GIANTmicrobes Halloween goodness? They have a really cool Halloween Gift Box that features five miniature versions of some of their best-sellers (Anthrax, orange Amoeba, Flesh Eating, Black Death, and Ebola) all dressed up for Trick or Treating. These would make really fun prizes for costume parties.  What could be more fun than death in a box? I mean, nothing says “ha, ha, tricked you!” like giving someone the plague!

Bone Cell will be available on October 26th in the GIANTmicrobes online store. Next week, I’ll be reviewing a really cute Christmas stocking ornament set, and giving away the same thing in my Coupon Cabin giveaway. A huge thank you to GIANTmicrobes for being such awesome and generous sponsors of several of my current and upcoming giveaways. They really are a fantastic company, and one that I’m quite proud to promote.
