We're Going to Have a Judy Moody and the Not So Bummer Slumber Party!Jacob has been dying to see Judy Moody and the Not So Bummer Summer since he saw the previews a couple of months ago, but we never really had a chance to go see it in theaters, so when I was contacted to host a Judy Moody slumber party, I jumped on the chance, especially since it gives me the chance to represent the little boy viewing demographic. Jake watches a lot of shows that are traditionally marketed towards girls and sometimes feels a bit left out of the merchandising loop. I am so thrilled that the organizers of this event recognize that, just because the lead character is a girl doesn’t meant that little boys can’t enjoy it too. Of course, half his friends are girls, so their demographic will be just as well represented at the party.

While I’m not brave enough to have a bunch of young children sleep over yet, we are going to do a slumber-party theme with all the kids in their jammies. They’ll come, play, eat, enjoy the movie, and go home to sleep in their own beds.  I’m still working on ideas, but I’m thinking we’ll be making some bandage art, and we’ll definitely need to make Cootie Catchers! I remember those from when I was little, except we called them Fortune Tellers or something like that. For snacks, I’m thinking of making a Screaming Mimi’s Mud Pie (or maybe I’ll just serve mud pie ice-cream, since I just looked at the list of ingredients and there are definitely more than three, which is the point where I start getting scared). If anyone else has any ideas of easy Judy Moody snacks, I’d love to hear them!

If you haven’t heard about the movie, check out the clip below and get in the Judy Moody loop. I’ll be posting all about our awesome slumber party after the big event.
