Ever since I was a kid, the arrival of Hickory Farms in my local mall meant that the holiday season was officially underway. Even now, whenever I see that kiosk start setting out their cheese and sausage samples, it reminds me of Christmas shopping with my grandparents. Hickory Farms Christmas were part of all of holiday our traditions because it was always the ideal gift to buy for that person that had everything, or to keep on hand for people who just happened to stop by unannounced.

In more recent years, my mom, brother, and I started a wine and cheese tradition at our house on Christmas Eve. I usually skip the wine because it gives me a headache, but I’ve always been a big fan of cheese (I think I was a mouse in a past life), so I’m happy to participate in that part. Since either my mom or I work Christmas Eve at the Santa set in the mall, we usually grab a Hickory Farms basket before heading home. As part of the Mom Central Hickory Farms blog tour, I received the generous-sized Party Planner Holiday Gift Basket, so we had a pre-holiday season wine and cheese (minus the wine) night.

My basket included several different types of cheese, two types of summer sausage, turkey summer sausage, two types of mustard, and Sesame, Caraway & Sea Salt Crackers. My favorite cheese was either the Smoked Gouda or the Smoked Cheddar, it’s hard to decide. I don’t eat beef or pork, but really I enjoyed the turkey summer sausage. It tastes great mixed with the Smoked Gouda!

Aside from the delicious selection, one of the best things about the Party Planner Gift Box is that Hickory Farms will donate $5 from each one purchased to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign to help fight childhood hunger. You can also opt to donate $1 to the cause at the register or during checkout on Hickory Farm’s website. Hickory Farms also offers free shipping on certain products to military addresses, so you can send your loved ones on overseas bases a taste of home. As someone who lived overseas for two years during Christmas, I can assure you they will appreciate it.

To ensure that you get the freshest products possible, Hickory Farms is offering a $3, 3-day shipping feature. Your order will be hand-packed and delivered within three days for just $3. Take a look at the inforgraphic below to learn more.

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Hickory Farms and received a product sample to facilitate my review. My opinions are my own.
