The goal of the program is to have all the participants walk a combined total of 238,857 miles, which is the distance from the Earth to the Moon. I think that’s pretty cool. I would definitely be more likely to get moving if I thought it was for something as neat as a “walk” to our little satellite. To sweeten the deal, participants will receive incentives for reaching certain goals. These include Amazon gift cards, Entertainment Book coupons, and even two grand-prize trips to Hawaii for an outdoor adventure!

CaféWell is a social networking site that focuses on your health and well being. After completing the simple signup, you are taken to your home page, where you can get advice on health issues and weight loss, join in on challenges, or set up goals and challenges for yourself. I’m thinking of creating a “Try to Relax for Five Minutes a Day” challenge until the holidays are over, as my stress levels are at an all-time high this year. I really need a reminder to just relax and not think about everything for at least five minutes every day. After the new year, I’ll be working really hard on getting into shape, so I’ll set up weight-loss challenges for myself until I reach my goal, then maintenance challenges once I reach it (I’m being optimistic here!)
