While I don’t wear glasses myself (yet, I think I’m getting to the point where I may need them soon, at least for driving at night), just about everyone in my family does wear them. I know how difficult it can be to find frames that are attractive and high-quality, yet still affordable. If you’re looking for discount eyeglass frames that don’t look like, well, discount eyeglass frames, I recommend checking out Glasses.com. In less than a minute, I found these really cute dark purple frames, which sell for just $29.

Glasses.com features tons of designer frames, and many are still very affordable. For those into 7 For All Mankind, you’ll find a really cute pair for just $99. That’s still less expensive than some of the not-so-fancy frames I’ve seen in some places. I really like how easy it is to search the site by breaking down your choices depending on brand, style, color, and even the shape of your face. I wear sunglasses and reading glasses, and I’m really picky about the style because I think I have a very round little apple-shaped head. I clicked on just the “round” head shape option and it recommended over 140 different frames that wouldn’t look totally goofy on me.

They even have a cool virtual try-on feature for select frames, where you can upload your picture and try on different frames. As it turns out, the cute purple frames above don’t really fit my face right. I did find a pair that I really like though, they have that “barely there” look. They’re the Arabella GLW03 in Gunmetal, for the curious.

I was pretty impressed with how well the try-on feature works. I ended up spending way too much time playing with that feature. I also discovered that Glasses.com has computer glasses. To be honest, I had no idea what they were, so I had to check it out. They reduce the eye-strain you get from staring at your screen all day. I totally need those, since I’m pretty sure the reason my vision is not quite the 20/20 it used to be has something to do with the length of time I spend on the computer. Of course, I had to check out the sunglasses section because I can’t drive without wearing them. My light-colored eyes are extremely sensitive to sunlight. I even wear sunglasses on cloudy days.

If you’re in the market for a new pair of glasses, or even a back-up pair in case your regular pair meets with a tragic accident, I highly recommend checking out Glasses.com. You can find them at www.glasses.com. They are brought to you by the 1800Contacts, which I know is reputable because my mom orders her contacts through them.
