As part of my efforts to find more balance in my life, I’ve been trying to engage in more relaxing activities. These include lounging around on my couch, drinking more tea in the evening, and writing my random thoughts down so that they don’t float around in my head (thus keeping me keyed up into the wee hours of the morning). Uncommon Goods put together an awesome “Sit Back and Relax” gift set that included pretty much everything I needed to accomplish those three goals. As part of my blogger review package, I received a cozy pair of Rosette Herbal Resting Slippers, a Magisso Tipping Teacup, and really cute little Care journal.
Rosette Herbal Resting Slippers
The Rosette Herbal Resting Slippers were definitely the most favored prize among everyone in my house in this package of goodies! My mom tried them out before I even got near them, and she loved them. My son stole them five minutes after she took them off, first putting them on his feet, then using them to snuggle with. The child has a major thing for heated herbal packs and what-not, so it was a little hard to pry them away from him. I finally did get a turn trying them out, and they’re awesome. They are resting slippers, meaning you’re not going to be able to walk around in them. They’re pretty heavy, and filled with lavender, rosemary, chamomile, peppermint and lemongrass. All these herbs are known for their ability to promote relaxation. I prefer them heated in the microwave for about two minutes, but you can also stick them in the freezer and chill them. I’ll definitely try that in the summer! These are sure to be one of the top mother’s day gifts of the season! Click here for more great mother’s day gifts.
Magisso Tipping Teacup
I’ve been trying to find a decent way to brew loose tea for a while, as the little tea ball I bought recently is not doing the trick (I bought the cheapest one I could find, which may have something to do with it). The Magisso Tipping Teacup definitely works much better than my tea ball! It’s such a cool little cup. You put your loose tea in one side, pour the water over top of it, let it steep for a few minutes, then tip the cup and drink out of the other side. Perfect tea every time, exactly what I need for a night of relaxation while reading or zoning out in front of the TV.
Care Journal
I actually ended up giving the Care Journal to Jacob, because he needed a place to write down his thoughts. It’s just the right size for him, and the blank pages allow him to write or draw freely. Each page spread does have an inspirational quote about caring, so it’s perfect for keeping as a journal for yourself. It would also be great for writing down gratitude thoughts, or memories that you want to pass down to your children and grandchildren. The journal measures 6.25″ in length and 4.75″ in width, and comes with 224 pages. It’s the perfect size for slipping into your purse or backpack.
“Uncommon goods has tons of other awesome stuff, from necklaces like these to gifts for wives like these.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

With that teacup doesnt it seems like the leaves barely touch the water? I don’t think this would work very well. I use this double walled Bodum cup. The lid even serves as a stand for the tea diffuser when you remove it from the cup.
