Hey there, all you Yo Gabba Gabba! fans, guess what? Jason Bateman is starring in a brand new, never before seen episode of the hit children’s musical show in Yo Gabba Gabba: Super Spies, which releases on DVD on April 17th, 2012. In the titular episode, Bateman stars as an evil spy who steals the Gabba Land balloon art. The gang must use some pretty nifty gadgets to track down Bateman and get their stuff back.

It was really fun seeing Jason Bateman doing a kid’s show, especially since I grew up watching him on shows like Little House on the Prairie, and that one where he played a Hogan (IMDB says it was called “Valerie’s Family,” but I could swear it had a different name back then). Bateman is definitely one of those guys who gets better with age.

Yo Gabba Gabba is one of those shows that grows on you. When my son first started watching it, I thought it was bizarre, and it even kind of freaked me out a bit! But now I have to admit that I kind of like it. Jake still refers back to songs, just the other he was singing “Try it, You’ll Like It!” when Sal was trying to convince me to try some sort of pizza with spinach on it (I don’t eat spinach, sorry Popeye!). So at least I know the messages are getting through.
