I’ve always enjoyed puzzle books, especially when I was traveling. They gave me something to do on long plane rides, in hotels, and at night when everyone else was in bed where I was visiting. I find them both physically relaxing and mentally stimulating at the same time. The Complete Idiots Guides and Puzzle Baron, sponsors of my Father’s Day Gift Ideas Giveaway, make a wide array of fun puzzle books for dad, moms, and anyone else who enjoys exercising their minds.

The winner of my giveaway will receive the following three books, all of which I also received for review:

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Picture Puzzles Vol. 2 features 100 different “find the differences” type puzzles in full color.  All of the pictures are suitable for any age, and they vary in levels of difficulty. I’m pretty horrible at these types of puzzles in general, but there were plenty that were easy enough for me. If you do get stuck, there is a handy answer guide in the back of the book to help you out.

Puzzle Baron’s Soduku contains a whopping 400 different Soduku games, also in varying levels of difficulty. Puzzle Baron is best known for their popular websites featuring online and printable puzzle games, like Crytograms, Word Search Puzzles, and more. Soduku is a strangely addicting game. I started playing it in a puzzle magazine years ago and love it, even though technically I’m not a big fan of numbers or number games.

Puzzle Baron’s Logic Puzzles Vol. 2 features 200 grid-style logic problems, also in varying degrees of difficulty. These are the puzzles that give you a little story and a few clues, and you have to figure out who did what and other details. I have a really hard time with logic puzzles because my brain is wired more for whimsy than logic. I still love to try to do them and see how far I get before throwing in the towel and running to the answer guide.

All three books and more will go to my Father’s Day Gift Ideas Giveaway winner. The giveaway starts on June 10th, so be sure to come back and enter! In the mean time, check out Complete Idiots Guide on Facebook and Twitter.
