SpongeBob Kah Rah TayJacob, like most kids his age, is a huge fan of SpongeBob SquarePants. I am pretty sure we’ve seen every single episode that has ever appeared on television by now, as he turns the show on just about every day after school. His favorites by far, though, are the episodes featuring Karate. Or, as SpongeBob would say, “kah-rah-tay!.” Jake did karate for a while, and I think SpongeBob was one of the things that made him want to do it in the first place! Now, all his favorite Karate episodes are highlighted on one special DVD: SpongeBob SquarePants Extreme Kah-Rah-Tay, which releases onto DVD on January 15th.

SpongeBob Extreme Kah-Rah-Tay is packed with action!

The brand new collection of SpongeBob episodes contains 11 episodes, each packed with cool action sequences that could only be performed by a sponge living under the sea. The first episode, Squid Defense, is one of my favorites. Poor  grumpy yet skitzy Squidward is doing his grocery shopping when the Creepy Creeper approached. Squidward, having little faith in humanity, assumes the Creeper is going to steal his stuff, so he runs away. After that, he asks SpongeBob to teach him karate so he can defend himself in the future.

Turns out teaching Squidward karate is harder than teaching SpongeBob how to drive a boat! Still, Sandy and SpongeBob manage to teach him. Squidward then uses his new-found skills in a manner not befitting karate, and learns a valuable lesson about assuming the worst of people based on their looks. So the episode provides two great lessons: karate is not to be used for revenge, and just because someone looks intimidating doesn’t mean they aren’t good people.

The other episodes on the disc include:

  • Eek, an Urchin! in which SpongeBob and the Krusty Krab team try to rid the restaurant of a sea urchin/
  • Squirrel Record : Sandy tries to break a few world records.
  • Face Freeze: SpongeBob and Patrick learn that if you make faces, your face really will freeze that way!
  • and much more.

Your karate (or kah-rah-tay) fan will love this collection of SpongeBob episodes!

This will be a must-have for the Easter basket! Jaxon has been such a hard core fan since around 2, we usually have one basket of nothing but Spongebob movies, games and of course krabby patties!
