I received a Bright Light pillow in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I am always skeptical about “As Seen on TV” items, especially those for kids. Jacob really wanted a Bright Light pillow, though, so when the chance to review it came up, I figured “why not?” I have to say, I was really surprised at how awesome this pillow is, and how well it works!
Jacob takes it to bed with him every night, so we’ve had a chance to really try it out over the last week or so. He usually has his room lit up with several night lights because he’s a bit concerned about the dark (he’s 8, he doesn’t want anyone to know he’s afraid of anything!). The pillow has really helped him feel more comfortable in his room.
Features of the Bright Light Pillow
We received the Star-Shaped Bright Light Pillow. It also comes in a white square and a pink heart shape. The pillow is SUPER soft. I worried about that, since it has lights in it. I don’t know how it works, but you don’t feel anything aside from soft, fluffy plush pillow. Even the battery compartment has a special little pouch that keeps it from poking your child.
The lights are amazingly vivid. They cycle through different colors, including my favorite: the purple, pink and teal colors above. I love how the color changes are soothing and mellifluous. I could sit there and stare at it for hours! Very relaxing! Of course, I don’t get to take it to bed with me, since it’s Jacob’s pillow.
It’s easy for little ones to turn on and off, just press a button on the corner of one of the star arms. The lights automatically turn off on their own after about 15 minutes, so you don’t have to worry about running back in the room after your child falls asleep. During the day, Jacob keeps the lights off and uses it as a comfy pillow while watching TV or reading.
Don’t you just love that cowlick? I did get his hair cut in time for his Santa pictures at least! Jacob is thrilled with his Bright Light Pillow. I asked him if other parents should get it for their kids for Christmas and he said “yes!” So there you have it, a recommendation from an actual kid.

I’ve seen them in Walmart, CVS and other stores in my area, so you should be able to grab one before the holidays without ordering online. Keep in mind that the online store has a few deals and styles that may not be found in brick-and-mortar stores.
