If I had to eat just one type of food for the rest of my life, I would choose cereal. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. Here’s the thing, though: I’m a super picky cereal eater. I’m REALLY trying to eat healthier, which means going with more “grown up” cereals. You know, basically letting go of anything with a cartoon character on the box! The thing is, some of those healthier cereals just aren’t exactly exciting, so I add bananas. If I’m throwing a ton of banana in cereal, you know I really don’t love it. This, of course, stinks when I run out of bananas!

I’ve always been a fan of Honey Bunches of Oats. They live up to their name by actually adding a bunch of the “bunches” part. Hey, I take cereal promises quite literally. If you’re promises me bunches, I had better see those bunches! So anyway, Honey Bunches of Oats has always been high on my list of favorite healthier cereals. Now, they just moved up to the top with their Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy!

Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy: Bananas Not Required

Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy comes in two flavors: Cinnamon Crunch AND Chocolately Almond Crunch. If you know how I feel about chocolate, I’m sure you can figure out which is my favorite! Take a look at this cereal! Look at all those bunches of goodness!

There is so much excitement going on in this cereal. You have flakes, clusters and chunks in there. Really, there’s no room left for bananas. Although I did try it with them too and it’s quite delicious, like eating a chocolate-covered banana rolled in oats. I love how milk doesn’t make it soggy or weigh it down either!

The Cinnamon Crunch was also quite yummy. That was my boyfriend Sal’s favorite. The cinnamon flavor is strong enough to enjoy without being overpowering. I didn’t get a lot of that because Sal pretty much commandeered it. That’s fair though, as I called dibs on the Chocolately Almond Crunch!  Both cereals are packed with whole grains and fiber. Both kept me feeling full well until lunch, sometimes longer. They’re definitely a great way to start your morning! I just love a cereal that doesn’t sacrifice on taste to bring a healthier experience. I also love that I can spend less on bananas!
