Two weeks ago, my brother and sister-in-law came up for a visit with my super amazing, adorable niece, Abbie. Since they don’t come up that often, we decided to have a family get-together that weekend. For some of my aunts, it was the first time meeting Abbie. What better way to introduce her to her great-aunts than with a “Meet the Baby” party!

BigDot Meet Abigail Banner

What is a “Meet the Baby” party? Pretty much exactly what it sounds like: an opportunity for family members to meet your little one for the first time. Whether it’s weeks or months (Abbie is 7 months) after the birth of your baby, it’s the perfect way to let everyone come together in one spot, rather than having to go to a zillion relatives houses!

Make it amazing with Big Dot of Happiness

Big Dot of Happiness was gracious enough to supply some really cute decor for our Meet the Baby party.  If you haven’t heard of them, you’re missing out. They have the most beautiful party supplies I’ve ever seen. The great thing is, you can either get premade packages for specific events, or you can “build a party” to mix and match. I simply told them which theme I liked best (I went with Cherry Blossom) and what kind of party I was having. They asked if I wanted personalization. When I said I did, I thought they were just going to slap Abigail’s name on a few items. What I got, though, was a beautifully designed package of goodies that all said “Meet Abigail.”

See that super cute banner up there at the top of this post? It’s incredibly easy to put together and made of the highest quality cardstock paper, plus beautiful ribbon! It even comes with sticky things to help you hold it in place. With plenty of ribbon, it was a cinch to adjust and then hide the sticky stuff behind pictures on my mantle.

BigDot Meet Abigail Cupcakes 3

My favorite element from our Meet the Baby package was the cupcake wrappers and sticks. While I did struggle a bit with my clumsy hands to wrap them just right, after the first few cupcakes I got the hang of it. Don’t they look good? My mom made the cupcakes. I iced them though, that counts for something, right? To get the pink hue, she used one single drop of red food coloring in a butter cream icing. On the right, see how you can adjust the size to fit all different cupcake sizes?

BigDot Meet Abigail Favor Box

Of course, you can’t have a party without treat boxes! Our adorable Meet Abigail boxes were just the right size for wrapping up a piece of cake or cupcake to send home with out guests, with plenty of room for extras.

All of our Big Dot of Happiness Meet the Baby party decorations were easy to assemble and oh-so-cute.
