You know how I love subscription boxes, right? Especially ones filled with cool stuff for kids? Well, I’m so thrilled to have found Surprise Ride! I did this review through Tomoson, but all opinions are my own.

Surprise Ride Brings Monthly Adventures to Kids!

Go on an Adventure with Surprise Ride

Surprise Ride is a cool subscription box service for kids that brings them a new adventure every month. Our box featured fun things to celebrate outer space! It included:

  • A telescope craft
  • a cool clock-making craft
  • a fill-in-the-blank National Geographic “mad-libs” type book
  • Fun facts, stickers and more about stars

The first thing we did was make the telescope, as it seemed like the easiest craft. The kit includes a cardboard telescope, shiny double-sided paper and star stickers. Jacob was impressed that it worked so well! He used it to check out the moon and stars.

Jacob really wanted to dig into the big craft: the working clock. I put down newspaper for this one! The kit comes with everything you need to make your own clock, including paint, the clockworks, a battery and even a smock to keep clothes clean.

He really got creative, using all the colors to make a rainbow clock. It was great to see him so engaged in a project!

I absolutely love that Surprise Ride is geared towards kids ages 6-11. Jake falls right in the middle of that group. I find that many subscription boxes are geared more towards younger kids, so it’s wonderful to have something made just for him. The projects are easy enough for a younger child to work on, but the extras (like the National Geographic book) really engage older kids. Even I had fun creating silly stories with the book!

I think it’s so cool that the company was started by two sisters, Donna and Rosy. They wanted to created toys that really made a lasting impression on kids. I find that the knowledge kids learn while playing lasts so much longer than that they have drilled into them at school. Surprise Ride is such a wonderful way to teach your kids new lessons. I adore the simplicity of the crafts. Watching your child start with a blank piece of wood and a bit of paint, then seeing a vision come to life is just magical.

The sisters are well on their way to becoming a household name. They were even featured on NBC’s Shark Tank!

Pretty cool, right? Head on over to Surprise Ride and learn more about their great service. The boxes start at $29.99 per month, with discounts on six and 12 months. Check up in the upper right corner of the screen on their website for a discount code!
