Unicorn Popper

I’m usually weary of toys that shoot objects from them. I have a rule that they need to stay outside and out of confined spaces in our home where an innocent bystander is more likely to lose an eye. This Unicorn Popper by Hog Wild is not one of those toys I need to be worried about. Don’t get me wrong, it has quite a bit of “pop” to it, but it’s a much more playful projectile.

Go Hog Wild (Safely) with the Unicorn Popper!

Hog Wild was founded in 1996, and is a company out of Portland, Oregon. One look at their website and you can see that they are all about fun, simple products that don’t try to compete with anything else. Their novelty toys are designed to be different, and it sounds they take pride in ‘marching to their own beat’ so to speak.

The Unicorn Popper is intended for ages 4 and up. My 4 year old daughter and her 6 year old brother got a lot of laughs out of this toy. Its super easy to stuff a rainbow ball in the Unicorns mouth and give its belly a squeeze. They really make the perfect, “POP” sound when the ball shoots out. We were impressed that the ball really does shoot up to 20 feet.  We quickly noticed that because the balls are a soft foam, they don’t hurt when being hit with them. This definitely helped the kids enjoy the toy more, instead of being fearful of getting hit.

Unicorn Popper

The Unicorn Popper is about 6 inches tall, and just the right size for kids’ hands. It comes with 5 rainbow colored foam balls, and a mesh bag to store them in. Give the belly a good squeeze, and watch the balls fly. It’s a pretty simple toy, with simple instructions for use. It’s nice to see a toy that kids can have fun with that doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles.

The Unicorn Popper by Hog Wild would be fun one to stuff into Christmas stockings for siblings to shoot and dodge together. They retail for $10.95 over at Hog Wild Toys and Gifts. Be sure to check them out on Facebook and Twitter to see more Poppers as well as other products currently available.
