Essential Oil Blends to Try in Your Aromatherapy Diffuser

I use these blends in my Anjou Aromatherapy Essential Oil diffuser. Anjou sent it to me to check out along with their gift set of the most popular essential oils. I’ll tell you more about the diffuser in a bit. First, let’s talk essential oil blends!

For these particular blends, I went with either essential oils that come as part of the Anjou Top 6 gift set7 Inexpensive Essential Oil Blends for Your Aromatherapy Diffuser or essential oils that typically cost less than $10 a bottle (typically being the key word there, some brands do charge what I consider to be an extremely high markup on essential oils).  The gift set includes Lavender, Lemongrass, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, and Sweet Orange. I linked to the under $10 versions of the other essential oils that I use within each blend.

Shiny Happy Blend

I call it that because citrus scents make me super happy. When I was pregnant with my son, I practically bathed in Yuzu. Actually, I did, because my mom made me soap with the fragrance oil. Alas, the actual essential oil is pretty expensive. I’ve seen it for as much as $50 an ounce. Ouch! Fortunately, you can get a similar happy scent with less expensive citrus EOs.

Sick and Tired Blend

This is my go-to essential oil blend when I’m feeling all stuffy and miserable. It’s kind of medicinal smelling, but it definitely helps open you up.

  • 5 drops Rosemary
  • 2 drops Peppermint
  • 2 drops Lavender

Sweet Dreams Blends

We all know that Lavender is the go-to essential oil for helping you fall asleep at night, right? What do you do, though, if you’re not really a fan of the scent on its own? I love lavender mixed with other EOs, but on its own it’s just a bit to flowery for me. When I want to go to sleep, I mix either:

OR

  • 3 drops Lavender
  • 2 drops Vanilla

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Sometimes you need a calming scent to help zap anxiety without falling into a lavender-induced coma. Try one (or both!) of these essential oil blends!

  • 3 drops Lavender
  • 2 drops Peppermint

OR

  • 3 drops Lavender
  • 2 drops Lemon

The lemon or peppermint are bright and cheery scents that help counteract the yawn-inducing lavender vibe.

Summertime Rolls Blend

Jane’s Addiction fans know where the name of this blend came from. I could call it Summer of Love blend, but, eh, not really my thing. I’m usually not a fan of Patchouli. I think it’s overpowering and a little too earthy for my tastes. However, the citrus scents cut into the heady aroma quite nicely. This one reminds me of those lazy summer days.

  • 2 drops Patchouli
  • 2 drops Sweet Orange Oil
  • 1 drop Lemongrass

One thing to keep in mind: everyone has different preferences when it comes to scent. If you find that one oil is overpowering another in your opinion, just adjust a bit, but do it a little at a time. ONE extra drop at a time. A little goes a very long way with EOs.

More about the Anjou Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser

Anjou Aromatherapy 2

I really do love the Anjou diffuser7 Inexpensive Essential Oil Blends for Your Aromatherapy Diffuser, not just because it’s pretty, but because it holds up to 300mL of water, so you’re not constantly filling it. It’s just big enough for a small room, like your bedroom or office. I use it in my living room too and find that it still does a good job of delicately scenting the air. Yes, there are bigger diffusers, but this one is just right for my needs.

Another thing I really LOVE about the Anjou: it doubles as a nightlight or mood lighting. This is Jake’s favorite feature and, quite frankly, I’m surprised he hasn’t convinced me that it belongs in his room yet. Just about everything else ends up in there, including MY stuffed Funko Pop Yoda7 Inexpensive Essential Oil Blends for Your Aromatherapy Diffuser that I found in a clearance bin all on my own. I get to visit it at least when I put his laundry away. Anyway, I took a video of the colors as they change (and sped it up times 2).

Sorry it’s a bit shaky. I was standing on my tippy toes trying to shoot it. I’m not a tall person and it’s up rather high. I also stripped the sound because my dog barks when I shoot video. It offends him greatly. Probably because he wasn’t in this particular video. Sorry, Coop, you can star in the next one.

The two buttons on the front of the diffuser have a ton of functions. One lets you choose whether you want to cycle through the pretty colors or just keep it on a single color. The other button lets you control the mist. You can either set it on high or low, then choose how long you want it to run. If you let it run continuously, don’t worry, it automatically shuts off when it runs out of water.

The Anjou Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser is available on Amazon7 Inexpensive Essential Oil Blends for Your Aromatherapy Diffuser, as is the gift set of essential oils. While the gift set7 Inexpensive Essential Oil Blends for Your Aromatherapy Diffuser is enough to get you started, I do recommend picking up some other EOs to mix things up a bit.
