Shopping for my son is getting harder and harder each year. He’s 12 now, so his “toys” are a lot more expensive. This year’s big gift was a gaming PC. He already got it, but I’ll get him a few little things to open on Christmas morning. If you still need ideas, check out some of my favorite holiday gift ideas for tweens and teens!

1. Destiny 2 for XBOX One, PS4, or PC

5 Flawless Holiday Gift Ideas for Teen & Tween Gamers

The top gift for gamers this year is definitely Destiny 2! My son is a huge fan and actually got the game the day it came out. If your tweens and teens already have it, consider getting them the expansion pass for Christmas. Here’s another cool tidbit: Alexa is now part of the Destiny 2 experience!

The Destiny 2 Ghost Skill serves as a premier companion for Destiny 2 players, creating brand-new ways to interact with the game, players can say, “Alexa, ask Ghost to…” with a variety of utterances — from “…tell me which friends are online,” to asking “…what should I do next?” giving recommendations for what to play next based on players’ real-time current progress, to “…call for back up,” which offers an easy way to interact with friends in their clan to enhance the social experience of Destiny 2, to “… equip my Raid loadout,” equipping players’ favorite weapons and armor for a number of different gameplay activities, to learning more about the world and characters of Destiny 2 with a request like, “…tell me who are the Red Legion?”

2. Geek Gear Subscription

5 Flawless Holiday Gift Ideas for Teen & Tween Gamers

Jake’s gone through a lot of “geeky” subscription boxes over the last few yeas. We’ve had pretty much every crate and box on the planet…except the Geek Gear subscription box. He was late to the Harry Potter game. He just started watching the movies about two years ago, but like most kids (and adults), he’s totally hooked. I know he would love this gift box for Harry Potter fans!

3. Beyution Wireless Built in Mic Bluetooth Headphone

5 Flawless Holiday Gift Ideas for Teen & Tween Gamers

It seems like Jake needs a new mic/headphones combo set like every other month. Part of the problem is the wires. He twists them, pulls them, and basically abuses them. Now that he’s spending more time gaming on the PC, I want to get him a decent set that isn’t too expensive. These have overall good ratings, and they’re under $25. They come in a ton of colors. Like more colors than any other headset I’ve looked at. I kind of want the purple ones for myself!

4. Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy

5 Flawless Holiday Gift Ideas for Teen & Tween Gamers

Remember when Playstation first came out and Crash Bandicoot was THE big game? Well, console games are back in a major way, and the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy gives your kids a chance to play these totally remastered classics. The trilogy has everything you loved about the game as a kid plus a few new surprises for a new generation. It’s only available for PS4. If you don’t have a PS4, now is a good time to get one since they’re usually on sale for the holidays.

5. Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit

5 Flawless Holiday Gift Ideas for Teen & Tween Gamers

Even though it’s not really gaming-specific, the Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit is a super cool gift idea for any fan of the franchise. Even though it’s easy enough for younger kids, it’s still ginormous fun for tweens. They can build their own R2-D2 and program him to do all sorts of stuff. They can even use the Force to get him to move!

These are a few ideas to get you started. I’ll add more as I come across them! In the mean time, tell me, what’s on your tween’s wish list?
