My current phone is on its last leg, and I’m looking into all my options. I really don’t want to renew my contract because I get antsy when I’m locked into something that like. I am really intrigued by Straight Talk because they don’t require a contract, there are never any surprise bills, and there is no credit check (which is great for me, because mine definitely does not rock right now). Straight Talk also only uses the most trusted names in phone manufacturers, like Motorola, LG, Nokia, and Samsung. They have several different pre-paid plans available with everything you need, including an “All You Need Plan” with 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts, and 30 MB of web data for $30 a month, and an Unlimited Monthly service plan that includes calls, texts and web for just $45 a month. For those who are fans of fishing, the FLW considers Straight Talk the best phone hook, line and sinker. Plus, they have inexpensive international calling plans, so you can call a friend anywhere in the world. As a nice bonus, 411 calls are always free, which is great when you’re broke down in the middle of nowhere and need a tow truck or something . With Straight Talk, there are no activation, reactivation, or termination fees.
I like the idea of paying less per month without being locked into a contract. With the extra money I would save, I could get a decent phone finally, instead of my 4-year-old taped-together number. Straight Talk offers reconditioned phones starting at $10 that include a camera, mp3 player, mobile web access and blue-tooth capability, and they also have smart phones that are app capable with all the bells and whistles, like touch screens. Straight Talk also has great nationwide coverage and excellent reception just about everywhere.
