Supernatural Anime: Demon-Slaying Sibling Bonding Goes 2DWarner Brothers is releasing Supernatural: The Anime on DVD and Blu-ray on July 26,2011. This three-disc series follows the storyline of the first two season, veering from previously forged path here and there to expand on certain arcs. Jared Padalecki provides the voice of his animated counterpart throughout the entire series, while Jensen Ackles only voiced his character in a handful of episodes. I signed up for this Warner Brothers campaign because I’m a huge Supernatural fan, and I love talking about the series. Plus, WB always provides a fun prompt for each leg of the project, such as this one:

After being separated for years, the Winchester brothers come together and surmount enormous obstacles (including some pretty gnarly demons) in search of their father. Throughout the show, family and brotherhood specifically is a very important theme. In fact, it is often the key element that saves each brother’s life when things get the most dangerous. How has family been there for you in moments of crisis? Do you have a brother or sister that you would stand alongside and fight demons?

I do in fact have a little brother, and should the need ever arise, I would definitely fight demons with him. Although, to be honest, my brother would most likely argue the demon to death before I had a chance to swing. He’s a lawyer, and he’s always been an exceptional debater. I have no doubt that he could clearly present all the reasons why said demon should not be attacking us, and instead convince the demon that he should just go poof on his own accord. Plus, my brother is really tall, like 6’4″, so I can’t image anyone wanting to mess with him.

As for the first part of the question (I like to answer things backwards occasionally, stir thing up), of course my family has been there for me during a crisis, that’s what families do. I’ve already talked about how they were there when my son was born, so I’ll tell you a different story this time. When I was 19. I got married and moved to Maryland. My then-husband was sent to another base without me, and I was stuck in MD by myself. I had a lot of friends who took care of me, but eventually I got evicted from my apartment (long story) and moved into a less than savory living situation with a woman who stole all my money while I was sleeping. My mom found out, came down and packed me up, moved me home, then went back down to watch the military move my stuff. Two weeks later, I moved up to Maine, and 9 months later, my mom had to come get me again. I’ve grown a lot since then, learned to make better choices, but at least back then she always came and got me, even when I was too stubborn to listen to reason. Our family may occasionally be dysfunctional, but we’d all slay demons for each other if it came down to it.
