Don't let a migraine ruin this view!

Don’t let a migraine ruin this view!

‘Tis definitely the season to be jolly, but all those fa la la la las can really bring on a headache for migraine sufferers.  I love the excitement, the lights, the delicious aromas coming from the kitchen, the shopping, the wrapping, the dashing through the snow in my one-horse-powered ancient car…you get the idea. Oh yes, I love the holidays. My head, though, sometimes not so much.

Headaches are pretty much a fact of life for me. My biggest trigger? Stress. To illustrate, the other morning I woke up late. Looked at the clock and realized I had three minutes to get out the door with Jacob to make the bus. The second I saw the time, my head started thumping. I made it to the bus stop, but by the time I got home, I was on my bathroom floor screaming with the worst migraine I’ve had in months. The amount of medication I threw at it to get it under control made my empty stomach churn, so I spent the rest of the morning throwing up.

If a simple realization that I’m running a couple minutes late can ruin my entire day, imagine what the stress of traffic jams, looming deadlines, heavier holiday workloads, bad weather and the overwhelming sense that I’ll NEVER get everything done in time to actually spend a single moment enjoying the holidays will do. I take prescription medication to help prevent migraines, but it only prevents up to about 80% of them. While that’s great, those other 20% really knock me on my butt! Unfortunately, when I’m in the throes of a migraine, I have a hard time keeping down anything that may help get rid of it.

Be Thankful for Rapid Migraine Relief with Ausanil

Ausanil

To help manage migraines, neurologist and lifelong migraine sufferer Dr. Anjan Chatterjee (and developer of Ausanil) encourages those of us dealing with migraines to stick to our regular routine as much as possible around the holidays. He recommends that we stay prepared and keep medications handy at all times. As I’m sure you know, acting fast is the only way to make sure you can go back to enjoying time with your family!

Speaking of fast-acting, Ausanil is a fantastic solution for those like me who suffer from nausea along with their migraines. It’s an over-the-counter nasal spray that offers rapid relief from that pounding, debilitating headache. The December issue of Shape Magazine recommends stashing “a fast-acting remedy in your bag” at all times during the holidays and highlights Ausanil as an option. Know someone who suffers from migraines? Head over to the Ausanil website to learn more about how you can order a bottle to gift for Christmas! Makes a great stocking stuffer!

I know you’re thankful for any relief of migraine pain! I know I’d personally love to hug anyone who can get rid of that pain! Let’s take it a step further, though., Ausanil wants to hear what you’re able to enjoy because of that rapid relief, especially around the holidays. For me, it’s all the happy songs, bright lights and of course, the shopping! I couldn’t get through a crowded mall without some relief from migraines.
