Looking for some of the best subscription boxes for teens? I’ve got you covered! Whether you’re shopping for a gamer, a reader, a “tinkerer” or a makeup fanatic, there’s a box for that in my top picks below!
PRO TIP: If you can’t really afford to buy multiple ongoing monthly subscription, here’s a secret from one perpetually broke parent to another. I subscribe to different boxes for one or two months throughout the year, then put them away in my closet. Then, when a holiday rolls around, I “shop” from those boxes for stocking stuffers and other small gifts to give my son and other teens in my life.
Anyway, whether you’re looking for a teen subscription box that you’ll actually give your child every month or you want to try my trick, these ideas below are a great place to start!

Best Subscription Boxes for Teens
The teen years range from kids who are barely out of middle school to those who are on their way to college, so their tastes really run the gamut. I kept that in mind and tried to find a good variety of ideas for all ages.
FYI, this post uses affiliate links. If you subscribe to one of the boxes below through my links, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. Prices are valid as of today (6/20) and subject to change.
1. Terra Create (Best Eco-friendly Teen Craft Subscription)
Perfect for: Teens who love crafting
What you get in each box: Each box comes with “artisan quality tools with an emphasis on natural materials, earth awareness and cultural themes.” Your teen also gets very clear instructions with photos, making this perfect for beginners as well as expert crafters. Every box centers around a theme and includes a short lesson about culture behind the craft and materials.
Options (Sizes): Standard size comes with enough materials for one person. For $10 more, you can upgrade to a 2-person kit.
2. The Collection Builder Comic Box
Perfect for: teens who love comics and who are just starting a collection
What you get in each box: A custom-curated mix of 10 modern and classic comics every month. The modern comics include titles that released this month. Each box also includes at least one No. 1 issue, and everything is packaged in protective comic mailers. When you subscribe, they’ll ask you a couple of quick questions so that they can tailor the box towards your teen’s tastes.
Cost: In the “under $25” range for the standard subscription. (Note: Amazon doesn’t allow affiliates to give actual prices since they fluctuate, so “range” is the best I can do without getting in trouble.)
Options (Sizes): Choose from Awesome Box (with 10 comics) or the Premium (with 20). The premium is just $11 more per month.
3. Space & Beyond Box
Perfect for: budding astronomers, teens who love science
What you get in each box: Every box comes with between 5 and 7 nifty astronomy-centric goodies, including some that are exclusive to subscribers. Each one focuses on a different theme, which your teen can read about in the special included Space Particles magazine. Past boxes have included globes, space rocks, models, posters and more.
Frequency: Quarterly (four times a year)
Cost: In the “under $50” range (but just barely).
Options (Sizes): One size box, but you can choose from small to XL for the t-shirt.
4. Marvel Design Vault Club T-Shirt Subscription
Perfect for: Teens who love Marvel movies or comics
What you get in each box: One high-quality officially licensed cotton t-shirt created and curated by the Marvel team. Every shirt is a complete mystery, but if you don’t like it (or already have it), you can return it.
Cost: In the “just under $20” range.
Options (Sizes): Available in both men’s and women’s sizes from small to 3XL.
5. FaceTory K-Beauty Subscription Box
Perfect for: Teens who love K-beauty or skincare products.
What you get in each box: Each box is jam-packed with “5-6 FULL-SIZED K-Beauty skincare items AND 5-6 Korean facial sheet masks,” for a total of 10-12 items. Your teen gets a mix of “rising, trending, and coveted Korean beauty products that are not widely available anywhere else.”
Frequency: Every 3 months
Cost: In the “under $50 but over $40 range.” If that’s too much for your budget, Face Tory has another smaller box that’s about $15 cheaper, and much smaller box with just sheet masks that’s in the “under $15” range.
Options (Sizes): One size, no customization. However, curators choose items that are safe for most (if not all) skin types.
6. Pusheen Box-Officially Licensed Mystery Subscription Box
Perfect for: Hardcore Pusheen collectors.
What you get in each box: Each box comes 7-10 first-edition exclusive Pusheen goodies, valued at $100+ total. Contents include things like t-shirts and long-sleeve shirts, vinyl and plush toys, stickers, and cute home goods. If your teen is really into Pusheen, this is the only way to get exclusive collectibles. None of the items are available anywhere else online or in stores.
NOTE: One thing that I don’t like, if your box arrives damages, they WILL NOT replace it.
Cost: In the “just under $50” range.
Options (Sizes): Only one size for the box, but you can choose from XS to 3XL for the t-shirt.
7. Vegancuts Vegan Beauty Subscription Box (Gender-Neutral)
Perfect for: Teens who want cruelty-free beauty products
What you get in each box: 4 or more deluxe or full-sized 100% cruelty-free vegan unisex beauty products. They’re all made with non-toxic ingredients and never contain any parabens. Past boxes included things like coffee scrub, lip balm, facial serums and even muscle rubs. Total value ranges between $60-110 worth of products in each box. Your purchase also helps support US-based animal sanctuaries.
Cost: In the “under $25” range.
Options (Sizes): None. They offer one box, no customizations. They do have excellent customer service, though. If you don’t like your box, contact them and they’ll try to make it right.
8. Freshman Fun Box
Perfect for: Teens heading off to college
What you get in each box: Each box comes with 5-7 items geared towards new students. Items range from personal care products to sweet treats to “life skills” goodies. It’s a bit pricy, but the reviews are outstanding. One Cratejoy user wrote that the box is “essential to my success in college,” and that they’ve been able to use every item they’ve received so far.
Cost: Start at $69.99
Options (Sizes): Four different box colors (not sure what the difference is, they all cost the same), and t-shirt sizes ranging from S to 3XL.
9. Japan Crate
Perfect for: Teens who love Japanese snacks, anime lovers.
What you get in each box: A LOT. This is among one of my all-time favorite subscription boxes (and not just for teens). The Original box comes with 10 Japanese candy/snack items. Some aren’t available in US stores. Those that are taste better than what you can buy locally. I lived in Japan, and there’s a WORLD of difference in flavor. Most of the stuff that you find here has been frozen, thawed, or sitting somewhere for weeks (or months). Japan Crate’s goodies taste exactly like I remember.
Cost: Starts at $33.45/month
Options (Sizes): Mini, original and premium.
10. Magical Reads Crate (Book Subscription Box for Teens)
Perfect for: Teens who love to read.
What you get in each box: Each box comes with one new YA novel (hardcover), plus fun swag from the author and other curated items that fit the book’s theme. The extra goodies are curated through collaborations with Etsy shops and artists. While most of the past boxes showcased look like they lean towards fantasy, they do say that they ship “all genres and diverse reads” within the YA category.
Cost: Starts at $34/month.
Options (Sizes): None. One sized box, no customizations.
I planned to include more than 10 boxes, but my poor dog got stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction. She’s fine, but I have to go sit next to her so she’ll rest a bit. I do plan to update this soon and add more, so bookmark it and come back. 😀
