I received complimentary La Tourangelle to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
Years ago, my mom used to have a business where she made soaps, lotions and other bath stuff. Those were some of my favorite times, because she was always creating new concoctions for me to try out. One of the main ingredients in everything she made was Coconut Oil. Avocado Oil also played a starring role in her balms. When I was offered the chance to try out La Tourangelle Artisan Oils, I admit that my mind didn’t go right to how I could cook with them. Nope, instead I started thinking about how I could use them in my own body products!
When my La Tourangelle package arrived, the first thing I noticed was how gorgeous the packaging is! I love the look of the bottles and jars. They arrived during my son’s major chapped lip stage too. As soon as he got home from school, I had him rub a little of the Avocado Oil on his lips. After a few days of using it as a lip conditioner, his chapped skin cleared up beautifully.
What is La Tourangelle?

Every oil is non-GMO and made from the best all-natural ingredients. The oils, are sold in 35 countries. La Tourangelle in your recipes
La Tourangelle Artisan Oils are made for cooking, so obviously they can take the heat in the kitchen. I’ve cooked with them multiple times since receiving my trio. We’ve used them to saute chicken breast, add flavor to baked goods and so much more. The coconut oil in particular adds such an interesting dimension to pie crust cookies. What are pie crust cookies? Well, when I was little, my grandmother used to make tons of pies. She’d take the leftover dough, cut it into squares, then dust it with cinnamon and sugar. Then she’d bake them for me to enjoy. It was my favorite part of watching her make pies! I decided to try my own pie crust using the a Tourangelle Coconut Oil. They had a delicious nutty flavor!

La Tourangelle Nutty Vanilla All-Over Body Butter Recipe
Did you know that Avocado and Coconut Oil are both amazing for your skin and hair? You don’t even have to do anything fancy with them, just rub a dab here, a dab there, wherever needed. However, I wanted to try whipping up a special body butter using all three of the oils. Here’s my super easy, Nutty Vanilla All-Over Body Butter Recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup La Tourangelle Virgin Organic Coconut Oil
- 1/8 cup La Tourangelle Roasted Walnut Oil
- 1/8 cup La Tourangelle Avocado Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Directions:
- Wipe down a small stainless steel pot with alcohol
- Add all the ingredients to the pot
- Simmer over very low heat (I had my stove on 1) until the coconut oil melts and combines with the other oils
- Remove from heat and place in a clean container
- Refrigerate, or if you’re in a rush, put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes
Once it hardens back up, scoop out enough to use as a body butter, then keep the mixture in the refrigerator. It feels great on a warm day! The awesome thing about this oil is that you can use it pretty much everywhere: your hands, feet, body, even your hair! It takes minutes to make and you’ll still have plenty of La Tourangelle Oils left over for cooking.
This Mother’s Day, give mom a La Tourangelle Trio Gift Pack along with this recipe. She’ll love a gift that’s great for her cooking and her skin! The trio starts at $17.97, depending on which oils you choose.
What is your favorite use for Coconut, Avocado or Walnut Oil?
I love body butter and I especially like ones that I can make myself at home!! This is an awesome recipe.
I love that it can double for your body as well as for use in your kitchen. I love multi-use gifts! Thank you for the great recipe.
I will have to look into this one! I was not familiar with this oil
I’ve never used avocado oil or walnut oil, but I love coconut oil. I think this is the brand my local grocery store sells. I’ll have to check it out.
I can not wait to try these out. I have been trying to come up with recipes so I can make my own soaps and lotions. The store bought ones are not helping with my dry skin so I have been buying some that are homemade and they are great. I want to try to make them myself.
Definitely give it a try! It’s so easy. Trust me, if I say it’s easy, then a toddler could do it, lol! I’m not exactly great in the kitchen or in crafts.
I like coconut oil because it is very good on my skin and helps with dryness. It even helps me with chapped lips. I like your recipe for Nutty Vanilla all over Body butter. I want to try this. These products that you used look so healthy and I like that it is Organic.
The one thing I’ve learnt is that anything you eat that has a positive result on the skin is also good for your hair. With that said I so love coconut oil products, never really tried too many avocado oil products.
I have never used coconut oil, but I have heard so many good things about it.
I love body butter but it can get expensive and have some weird chemicals in it! I always love a version I can make myself and know exactly what’s in it.
Same here, plus it’s so much more cost-friendly than store versions. While I still love a few brands, I do like making my own too.
That actually sounds really good; I would love to try these.
Now who doesn’t love body butter, right? This is awesome to try!
It was so easy to make too! I whipped it up in less than 10 minutes.
We use coconut oil to make body scrubs in this house but we have never tried using Avocado oil in anything before. I definitely need to check it out.
Avocado oil is fantastic for your skin. It really worked wonders on my son’s chapped lips.
I knew a lot of the benefits of coconut oil. I did not know about Avocado! Thanks for the info. share.
I love using their walnut oil in my cakes. Def one of my favorite oils!
I didn’t even think to put it in cakes, I’ll definitely have to give that a try!
We have recently switched the oils we use so I was very intrigued to read this. Pie crust cookies was a fun memories to read about too. I may try that with my kids in the fall. I seem to make a lot more pies during that time of the year.
Definitely give the pie crust cookies a try. They’re a great way to use left-over dough, and so delicious!
Sounds good! I should try this
These are great! I’ve just gotten used to using coconut oil myself, but this trio looks fantastic, too!
Oooh, I love body butter. I’ve never made my own – something to try!
It is SO easy, you’ll want to make your own all the time. I’m not crafty or a good cook, and it came out right on my first try.
I have been wanting to try making my own soaps. I will make sometime one of these days.
I would love to try this recipe for body oil. I’ve been using coconut oil a lot lately and I love it!
Thanks! It works really well! Plus it holds up great. I still have some left in the fridge and it hasn’t become a lumpy mess, so I must have gotten it right, lol.
I’ve used some of these oils, only for cooking. I’ve been trying out homemade beauty products, it didn’t occur to me to try making a lotion etc with them. Right now I’m using walnut oil, I use it in my salads.
I’ve used some of these for cooking, didn’t think to use them for body butter. I’ve been experimenting with body butter, and I found using part shea butter you don’t need to keep it in the refrigerator to keep the coconut oil hard. I’m going to try using one of these oils with the shea butter. Great idea!!
