Bow and arrow toys seem to be popular this year. I guess it’s no surprise, as they are used in quite a few videos games, movies and TV shows. I know my son has become familiar with them while playing Minecraft and Terraria.

Dino Hunterz Crossbow by Zing

The Dino Hunterz Crossbow by Zing is one of the newest archery toys you will find in stores this holiday season. The Dino Hunterz Crossbow is recommended for ages 8 and up. It comes with three Dino Dartz with suction cup arrows and a crossbow with an attachable Dino scope. Hook an arrow through the crossbow loops, pull back, and attach it onto the pin. Once kids push the side safety button they can pull the trigger and the dart will fly over 45 feet. Part of the packaging also doubles as a practice target.

This Dino Hunterz Crossbow is a pretty high performance, heavy-duty crossbow for kids. The Dino Darts have soft foam suction that stick to windows and smooth surfaces well and the scope really does seem to help with aiming. It shoots with enough force that that the safety button on the side is really good feature to have as well. The arrows shoot incredibly far, and the first time my son gave it a try his buddies were pretty impressed.

At 6 years old it is a little tricky for him to pull pack the darts and attach them to the pin to launch. He just barely has the arm strength to do it, while our 9 year old neighbor can do it no problem. With some toys I don’t think the recommend age is always accurate, but with the Dino Hunterz Crossbow I think it’s really on target (no pun intended).
