Who’s your favorite character on Wow! Wow! Wubbzy ? Aside from the adorable Wubbzy, of course! If you answered Walden, you’re in for a special treat. Now you can watch all the best Walden-centric episodes on one DVD! Jacob and I were thrilled to receive a copy for review.Honestly, I have a hard time choosing a favorite. I’ve always loved Widget because she’s such a cool inventor and sends a positive message to little girls that they can be anything, but Walden is a close second for favorite because he’s just so smart.
Perhaps the show works so well not because one character is awesome, but because combined they all exhibit the character traits that any parents would want to instill in their child- creativity, intelligence, ingenuity, kindness, and curiosity. Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!: Best of Walden, which released on DVD on April 9th, 2012, features sixepisodes highlighting the very best of, well, Walden, plus an extra special bonus episode.
What’s on the Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Best of Walden DVD
The DVD features episodes in which Walden helps Wubbzy make his special marshmallow lasagna, even though marshmallows aren’t in season; Walden tooting his horn and making a giant Goo-Goo creature arrive; poor Walden getting a case of Chickenitis, and more. One of the best episodes is Mr. Cool. I love this episode because it sends an important message to kids to just be themselves. See, Walden’s friends have good hearts, but sometimes they just miss the mark at first. They try to get Walden to be more “cool,” and he ends up betraying his own personality. By the end of the episode, though, Walden learns that he was already way cool in his own way and his friends appreciate him more for who he is.
Jacob’s been a fan of Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! since he first saw the show a few years ago. He’s getting older now and moving on from a lot of the shows he used to watch, but Wubbzy still remains on his play list of rotating favorites. I’m glad, because I think the show sends such a great message. It’s also one of the kids shows that I always actually enjoyed watching with him. The characters are fun, the environment is so colorful, and the themes are entertaining.
Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! is produced by Bolder Media, Inc. in association with Starz Media’s Film Roman Animation Studio. It airs daily on Nick Jr, so catch it with your kids! While the show is geared towards preschoolers, kids up through early elementary years will enjoy it. The lessons are valuable for this age group as well as younger children.
