I can’t stand washing dishes. Of all the tasks, it’s the one that I love the very least. As in, not at all. I am so grateful that I have a dishwasher! I remember once when I lived in my old house, the dishwasher broke down and we had to do them by hand! Egads, right? It was like living on the Prairie! Okay, maybe not that bad, since we did have electricity and all, but still! Washing dishes by hand? No thanks!

Cascade Platinum: Dirty Dishes

Nasty dirty dishes and filmy, grungy silverware.

The house I live in now does have a decent dishwasher, but we have truly horrible water. It’s safe to use, but we don’t really want to! Apparently my well is jacked into a sulfur line or something. Nasty, stinky rotten-egg water. We never drink it. We rarely cook with it. We do, however, wash dishes with it. Sadly, it’s kind of destroying our dishes! Everything has a nasty streaky look to it. I’ve used really good dishwasher products, and while they get things clean, they can’t quite keep up with the damaging effects of bad water.

On top of that, we had a plumbing problem last week! There was a clog somewhere in the million miles of pipes that take the water from the sink to where ever it is that dirty sink water goes. My friend’s husband is a plumber and thankfully he helped us out, but we had to wait a few days for him to get here. In the mean time, we couldn’t use the sink! That meant no pre-rinsing dishes. Actually, it worked out because it gave me a chance to test out Cascade Platinum and their package claim that it eliminates the need for pre-rinsing.

About Cascade PlatinumCascade-Platinum-Pacs

Just one little Cascade Platinum Pac is all it takes to not only clean a dishwasher full of dishes, but make the dishwasher itself sparkly clean inside! It works by combining three powerful ingredients into one little pac. The increased enzyme power breaks down all that crusty, nasty stuck-on food while the surfactants (a more clinical word for “soaps”) power through grease and grime to leave behind a shiny clean look. The chelant ingredients fights against hard water damage, something I desperately needed because I have well water (not to mention icky well water).

Cascade Platinum Pac After a normal rinse cycle, my dishes came out looking like this:

Look at the utensils! It’s hard to really get a good pick of how much shinier they were, but notice that you can see the reflection of my cabinets in the spoon!

Clean Utensils
The dishwasher itself is all nice and clean too!
