Coupon Cabin’s 25 Dayz of Crazy Giveawayz giveaway hop is just about a week away. Are you getting excited yet? You should be, because over 450 blogs are participating in this massive giveaway event. That’s a lot of chances to win some amazing stuff for Christmas (or yourself!). I’ll be giving away several great prizes including the super adorable, Toys ‘R Us 2011 Holiday Hot List toy, My Keepon.
This adorable little guy is based on Keepon Pro, a robot created by two scientists and used to study social development and autism. My Keepon became an instant hit the very first time he appeared on You Tube, and this Christmas he’ll be available to the general public. A portion of the sales will go towards funding additional Keepon Pro robotic research, which will in turn help those studying the use of robots in autism therapy.
What makes My Keepon so incredible and original is that he’s really such a simple little robot, yet so complex at the same time. He loves to dance, so just turn on some music (or sing to him), and he’ll start grooving to the beat. He starts out slowly at first, as his imbedded microphone listens to the song and determines the beat structure. But once this little guy gets going, he doesn’t stop. My Keepon loves attention, and if you don’t give it to him, he uses non-verbal cues to let you know he’s feeling a little neglected.
