GIANTmicrobes are BIG Fun For Wanna-Be Virologists!Did you know that the same bacteria that causes strep throat can also lead to a condition called necrotizing fasciitis, also known as “flesh eating disease”? Fun stuff, right? What could be more appropriate for Halloween than a little flesh eating disease, especially when it comes in a form as cute as that little guy to the left? Just look at those sweet little eyes  luring you in for a cuddle! Watch out though, he’s already armed with his knife and fork!

Just in time for Halloween, GIANTmicrobes is also releasing a brand new Bone Cell plush. I think that’s pretty appropriate, considering skeletons are made up of bone cells, and nothing says “Happy Halloween” like a skeleton! I’ll have a picture of this cute little guy for you as soon as possible. He’s so new that they don’t even have images set up for him yet. He’ll be releasing on October 26th, so keep an eye out for my review sometime around then.

I’ve been a huge fan of GIANTmicrobes since I first stumbled across them in a catalog (I believe it was ThinkGeek). I entered to win one every time I saw a giveaway for them before starting Pretty Opinionated, and was thrilled when I got to review one a few months back. They are, by far, one of the most unique plushies on the planet. I mean, it’s not often that you get to cuddle up with MRSA or Bird Flu and not walk away with a horrible affliction!

Aside from adorably non-deadly plush versions of deadly diseases, GIANTmicrobes also offers other awesome products like neck ties, vinyl versions of their plushies, mugs, hats, key chains, and more. They’re a wanna-be virologist’s dream come true!
