Always You Book Tour: Guest Post with Story Snippet

Thank you for having me here today.

My book released on 6th March and since then, I have been nothing but nostalgic. Yes, happy for sure but nostalgia for the time spent on writing the book, the struggles and wins that I had with this book has been chasing me all over. So, I wanted to share with you all a snippet of the book which meant a lot to me when writing the book. I remember shedding silent tears as I wrote it. When I read my book (I know how pretentious!), this is still the scene which touches my heart and makes me feel proud. I hope you all enjoy it as well. Without further delay, here is the snippet.

“He stood in front of her resigned, taking in the lovely face he’d hurt deeply. He watched as another big tear rolled down her cheek, leaving a trail of gleam on her smooth skin. He instinctively caught the tear midway with his thumb and first finger.

Lyla shivered lightly with shock from his touch on her face. She didn’t stop him when he came closer, feeling his body touching hers. She ached to put her head in his chest and cry, begging him to undo everything, and take her back to the lovely nights of their past.

Alex put his hands lightly on her neck, touching the soft skin. By all means, Lyla should’ve walked away, jilted by his touch. Yet she stood there riveted, watching the intensity of love in his eyes. He bent over her face and Lyla’s lips parted in accord but he touched her tears, on her cheek, kissing them, hoping to take away her pain with him. He continued kissing all her tears away, moving along her jaw line, to her ears, up her cheekbones and finally resting on her tired, closed eyes. Her tears rolled faster and small sobs shook the small body of Lyla, hurting within for Alex, for her inability to accept the man who she now knew that she was irrevocably in love with.

“Shh…” whispered Alex with his forehead meeting hers. He caressed her face with his hands removing the rest of the tears. “It’s going to be alright, dear. I promise.”
