Glad Black Bag Art Auction Blog TourWith an almost-seven-year-old, three dogs, and a couple cats, we definitely need a strong garbage bag to handle some heavy-duty messes. Glad bags have been a staple in our house since I was little. It’s strong enough to hold up to tough jobs (like cleaning out my car!), but relatively inexpensive enough to not break the bank. Now that summer’s coming soon, I’ll be cleaning out my closet and using Glad bags to take the stuff I haven’t even looked at in years over to the clothing donation bins.

Glad Black Bags is doing more than just helping you clean up your house, it’s also helping clean up the country by supporting Keep America Beautiful through their really cool Glad Black Bag Art Auction. The auction features artwork created using celebrities’ trash. Glad partnered with  artist Jason Mecier to create the unique artwork from the would-be trash of Hollywood stars, including actress Amy Smart, actor Jesse Eisenberg, reality star Lauren Conrad, actress Emmanuelle Chriqui of “Entourage,” Parks & Recreation’s Nick Offerman, actress Megan Mullally, Dancing with the Stars’ Chelsie Hightower, and “iCarly’s” Nathan Kress. You can bid on the works of art between now and April 26th. All proceeds benefit Keep America Beautiful.

Even if you don’t think you can afford to buy the art right now, definitely check out the auction just to see the cool stuff that can be created with little more than someone’s trash.

The Wild Life

Glad is also challenging you to make your family the hit of your own wild life reality show. Visit Glad on Facebook, and after you “like” them, check out the tab for “Glad the Wild Life.” It has a cute picture of a duck on it, in case you get lost. Once there, you can create your own Wild Life episode starring your family and submit it for a chance to win a $25,000 Grand Prize or a daily $100 prize. Everyone who enters gets a $1 coupon towards their next Glad  purchase. It only takes about two minutes to make a video, and it’s pretty fun! Again, there’s a cute duck involved. Or goose. Maybe it’s a goose. Hey, did I mention I got over my fear of geese recently? That’s a whole different blog post though.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Glad Black Bag and received a Glad Black Bag product and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. I was also asked to “pin” one (1) Glad Black Bag Art Auction photo on Pinterest.
