Laundry is one of my least favorite chores, mostly because I can’t stand the monotony of folding and putting away all the clothes once it’s done. I suppose I can’t complain lately because my wonderful boyfriend has taken over that task since I’m always writing. Unfortunately, he’s not here every day, and sometimes I still need to get off my butt and throw in a load. I figure if I’m going to be forced to wash clothes so that we’re not all walking around naked, I should at least be using a product that makes the task less daunting in some way. Greenology’s GreenShield Organic Lavender Laundry Detergent is one of those products.
I’m not going to say that GreenShield Organic laundry detergent makes me want to jump up and get started on the laundry, or that it makes the task a pleasure. It’s still laundry, after all. But it does make me feel more environmentally conscious while I’m doing a dreaded task. Plus, since it’s such an eco-friendly detergent, I know that I’m not dumping chemicals all over the clothes that my child wears.
GreenShield Organic: It’s what’s NOT in it that counts!
While most laundry detergents and household cleaners contain a long (like War and Peace long) list of the ingredients found in their products, GreenShield Organic has a fairly long list of what it doesn’t contain. It is free from phosphates, phenol and all the other bad “p” words; ammonia; a bunch of ingredients that sound like they belong in gas and not laundry detergent, and synthetic preservatives. It’s not tested on animals either, which is one of the first things I look for in any products that I use. Hey, I don’t see why bunnies should be tortured just so I can look pretty and my clothes can smell clean!
It’s not just natural, it’s Organic!
So here’s an interesting bit of info that I don’t think I knew before: the tern “natural” is not regulated by any agency, while the term “organic” is regulated by the USDA. So basically, anyone can claim that their product is natural. Sure, there are third-party organizations that certify certain products, but everyone may have a different idea of what counts as “all-natural.” Organic, on the other hand, is a very specific term with very specific rules set forth by the USDA. GreenShield Organic Laundry Detergent isn’t just natural, it’s certified Organic. In fact, Greenology currently has the only line of certified organic cleaning products in the entire United States.
It gets the job done!
The fact that it’s organic and environmentally friendly wouldn’t mean a whole lot if it didn’t do what it’s supposed to do. GreenShield Organic laundry detergent gets your clothes clean, and with the lavender scent, they smell nice and fresh. I’ve thrown some dingy items in the wash, and a few things that I forgot to stain treat. The clothes looked better when they came out, and the stuff I thought would leave a stain came out completely.
