Ever since I was 12 and my aunt first showed me how to apply makeup, I’ve loved experimenting with different colors and styles. Over the years, I’ve gone through just about every phase, from the horrible 80s blue eyeshadow look to the dark-lined goth look of the 90s to a more subtle look now that I’m a mom. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been trying to switch all my cosmetics to mineral versions because I think it’s better for my skin. Of all the different types I’ve tried, I have to say that so far, Mia Mariu Mineral Cosmetics is now among my top favorites.
For my review, I was given the opportunity to choose 2-4 cosmetics, up to $60 in value. I went with these:
My Impression of Mia Mariu Mineral Cosmetics
I’ve actually been using the mineral liner as eyeshadow because I don’t really have the right brush to use it as a liner, and it works perfectly for that purpose too. The Caramelo shade is subtle, so it’s perfect for the daytime while the Azabache is more dramatic and works well for a night out. The blush looks a little darker in person than it appears in the picture, but when you sweep it on, it’s not overwhelming at all. I love the color because I think it goes well with my typically pale skin tone. My favorite, however, is the lip gloss. First, the shade is just gorgeous and really compliments a wide variety of skin tones. While that in and of itself is enough to make it a must-use cosmetic in my overflowing makeup drawer, the fact that it feels really amazing on is a definite plus. It’s not goopy or overly slick some some lip glosses can be, and it absorbs into your lips quickly. Plus, it lasts a long time!
I really don’t like taking pictures of myself, but I figured I should at least show you how the makeup looks on. Here, I’m wearing the lip gloss, blush, and the Caramelo as eyeshadow.
I went with the subtle look that day, but the really cool thing about Mia Mariu Mineral Cosmetics is that you can totally control the look depending on how much you use. For example, if I want darker lips, I just swipe on an extra coat of the gloss. Same with the eye liner (or shadow, depending on how you choose to use it).
I also want to point out how incredibly fast they ship. I placed my request on a Thursday and everything was waiting for me when I got back from my brother’s wedding on Monday. Considering that there were only two actual shipping days in there (Monday was a holiday that week), the package arrived either one or two days after placing the request. It really doesn’t get much faster than that!
About Mia Mariu Mineral Cosmetics
All of Mia Mariu Mineral Cosmetics are designed to match a variety of skin tones flawlessly, without giving you that creepy “I’m wearing makeup” mask. They’re made with the most natural ingredients possible, and include a mixture of botanicals and antioxidants to help your skin look its best. Mia Mariu Mineral Cosmetics are of makeup artist quality, meaning that they’re good enough to grace the faces of celebrities and models. The price, on the other hand, is actually pretty fair, falling a little higher than your average drug store find but lower than the makeup counter in an upscale department store. High quality makeup at reasonable prices is not exactly easy to come by these days, so this is a major plus!
