I received two really cool items from TerraCycle for this review: the USPS Coin Pouch and the M&M speaker set. Both would make awesome gifts for just about anyone on your list.

The USPS Mail Sack Coin Pouch

You know how the post office delivers in rain, sleet, snow, hail, and just about any other calamity that nature can throw at us? Well, in order to do that and still keep your mail in tact, they need a pretty sturdymail sack! Eventually, though, those sacks do wear out a bit and need to be recycled. Still, they tend to have a lot of life left in them. Rather than chucking them in a landfill, TerraCycle found a way to upcycle them into rugged totes, iPad cases, and coin pouches.

Each USPS Mail Bag item is a one-of-a-kind gift because no two look the same. The pouch is super sturdy and can hold a number of small items, from the obvious (coins), to other things like makeup and small treasures. It would make a great stocking stuffer for anyone in the family, or a nice little gift for that random person that stops by with a present for you and puts you in an uncomfortable position of “what do I give them in return?” Hey, you could even give it to your mail carrier!

The M&M Packaging Speaker Set

kay, these are definitely my favorite because they’re just really freaking cool. They start out as flat, like this:

Just pop them up, insert the tabs as instructed, and you have a pair that looks like this:

The M&M Speaker set is made from 80% recycled materials, and perhaps best of all, doesn’t require batteries. Just plug it into your MP3 player or iPod, and you’ll have crystal clear sound that you can take anywhere. When you’re done, fold them back up for easy storage. They’re definitely among the most original and unique speakers out there! The packaging is way sturdier than I thought it would be too. While I wouldn’t recommend getting it wet (then again, you really shouldn’t be bathing with your electronics anyway!), it will definitely hold up to everyday use.
