I’m not a big fan of New Years resolutions, simply because they’re designed to make you feel like a complete and utter failure by the time February rolls around! Seriously, have you done the research? A whopping 88% of people fail in their New Years resolutions before the second month of the year! Oh sure, I get that January 1st is like this whole clean slate, and hey, we did survive the Mayan apocalypse and all, so maybe it really is a good time to change our ways! Still, I just can’t bring myself to make them because I’ll just feel crappy if I forget about them two weeks later.
However, I do want to make some changes to Pretty Opinionated, and New Years resolutions time seems like as good as any to announce them. They’ll be gradual, and hopefully they’ll all enhance your reading experience. If you have an opinion on the subject, let me know. If there is something you want to see more of here, let me know that too!
New Years Resolutions for Pretty Opinionated
- More useful tips and content. I’m still going to do plenty of reviews, because I love doing them and I hope you love reading them. However, I also want to start mixing in a bit more fun tips and regular content.
- Add a recipe section. Don’t worry, I won’t be the one actually making the recipes. I don’t want to poison all of you! Sal, on the other hand, is an amazing cook, and I’d love to start sharing some of his recipes with you on a slightly more regular basis.
- Better pictures. Granted, I still don’t have a great camera, but I’m going to learn to work better with what I have and hopefully make the posts more visually appealing.
- A new design. I already started working on this, and have a few more tweaks to make before I’m happy. What do you think so far? Do you like it, or prefer the old design?
That’s all I have so far. Like I said, if you have any tips, I’d love to hear them! Did you make any resolutions this year?
I hate saying the word “resolution” it’s like a jinx.
Can’t wait to see the new things..I’m all about recipes
I finally bought a DSLR because I just couldn’t get the pictures I wanted with my other camera but found it amazing what I could do with pic monkey and other free programs out there. Can’t wait to read the recipe posts! Love it when a guy can cook. 🙂
I am not much for resolutions either but I love goals and your goals are great. I am looking forward to them.
