We All Scream for Edy’s During National Ice Cream Month!

Edy Ice Cream Month

I love ice cream. Love, love, love it. If I could pick one food in the world for them to magically turn into health food so I could eat it 24-7, it would be ice cream. What’s not to love? It’s creamy, refreshing and comes in a myriad of flavors for every person’s taste! If ice cream was a person, I’d totally vote it president. One of my all-time favorite brands of ice cream is Edy’s. When I saw the chance to work with Edy’s through The Motherhood, I wanted to jump through my monitor and scream “pick me!” I didn’t, but thankfully I was picked anyway!

Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month? How convenient, because my birthday just happens to be this month. That just makes it double awesome, right? Now, I would celebrate Ice Cream every month of the year (yes, I even eat it during the frigid Poconos winters!), but since it is National Ice Cream Month, that calls for a little extra celebration!

What better way to celebrate both National Ice Cream month and my birth month than with some delicious Limited Edition Edy’s Ice Cream flavors, two of which just happen to have the word “cake” in their names! It’s like they were made just for me!

Edy’s Limited Edition Ice Cream Flavors

  • “Take the Cake”- I want this one for my birthday! The ice-cream if yellow cake flavored and it features yummy sprinkles and frosting swirls. Yum!
  • “German Chocolate Cake Spectacular”- Think of what would happen if you stuck a German Chocolate cake in the freezer then magically turned it into ice cream. This flavor features chocolate ice cream with a caramel coconut swirl and brownie pieces. Sal loves coconut, so this would be his flavor!
  • “Sunny Salted Caramel Pretzel”- I love the taste of sweet and salty! This one features vanilla ice cream with a salted caramel swirl and pretzel pieces.
  • Three Stripes You’re Out” – If you are in the mood for something with a fruity kick, this is the Edy’s Limited Edition Ice Cream for you! Vanilla Ice Cream with Mixed Blueberry and Strawberry Swirls!

The first three are available in both Grand and Slow Churned. I love the Slow Churned because  it has all the taste and ½ the fat (with ½ the fat and 1/3 fewer calories than regular ice cream).

Thanks to Edy’s for taking the trouble to actually ship me all four flavors because I couldn’t find them in my grocery store, I am well-stocked on ice-cream right now! I had to try Take the Cake first, since it is my birthday month after all (next Saturday is the big day). It is scorching hot out here! I tried to take the picture as fast as humanly possible before everything started melting. Thankfully, Edy’s shipped in dry ice and it was nice and frozen to start with!

Edy’s: A Reason to Smile

As if amazingly delicious ice cream isn’t enough of a reason to smile, Edy’s is partnering with Operation Smile to provide healthy smiles to children around the world too! Operation Smile is a wonderful organization that provides surgeries to children born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. Edy’s will donate up to $125,000 to Operation Smile this year.     I want to try the Sunny Salted Caramel pretzel. I will put broken up pretzel pieces with vanilla ice cream and Hershey’s chocolate syrup. The combination is delicious. I bet salted Carmel and pretzels are just as yummy!
