Wondering if Living Proof Perfect Hair Day products really live up to the hype? I tried them out on my crazy thick hair. Find out why I’m now a lifelong customer!
Ever wish you could have a perfect hair day without spending hours styling it? I sure do! I remember the days as a teenager when I had awesome hair. I never had to do anything with it and it still looked good.
As I’ve aged, my hair has become less agreeable. It’s gotten thicker, although I don’t know how that is humanly possible! It’s coarser than it used to be, and it’s constantly poofy.
As much as I do love my flat iron, I don’t love spending an hour getting my hair into shape, only to have to do it all again within a few days.

Living Proof PhD is an amazing line of hair products that helps you finally have your Perfect Hair Day every day. The “PhD” actually stands for “Perfect Hair Day.” The trifecta of hair products features a shampoo, conditioner and 5-in-1 Styling Treatment. Combined together into a regular routine, they deliver smooth, strong and polished hair.
I absolutely love that they are designed to clean your hair and keep it clean longer, so you don’t have to wash it as often. When you have as much hair as I do, that’s a definitely plus! I try to avoid washing it daily because it dries my hair out, especially with my hard water. I also love that they don’t contain sulfates, oils or silicone. Sulfates really are so damaging to your hair.
After you get out of the shower, add the 5-in-1 Styling Treatment to your hair for amazing shine and conditioning. It also seems to work as a detangler. I used a flat brush while blow-drying my hair to make it smoother. The last thing I need is more volume! The 5-in-1 Styling Treatment helps protect your hair from the heat. Take a look at the up-close results. I love the shine!
Designed by experts, based on real science
Living Proof PhD was designed by actual scientists from Cambridge, MA. It contains a molecule called OFMPA. While that kind of reminds me of Oompa Loompa, it’s actually a super molecule that helps make your hair better. I’m not going to pretend to understand the science behind it. I practically failed chemistry in college. All I know is that it really provides amazing results. I’ve only been using it for a week and after the very first time, I noticed a difference.
Jennifer Aniston apparently noticed and loved that difference too. In 2012, she became the co-owner and spokesperson at Living Proof. If she loves it, you know it has to be good. She has like THE BEST hair in Hollywood. Have you seen this video of her Living Proof stylist teaching us how to get beachy waves like Jennifer? I am totally going to try this.
Take the Living Proof PhD Challenge
Over the next couple of weeks, I am going to continue the Living Proof PhD challenge by using only their products. The goal is to see how my hair behaves at the end of the 30 days. See, while it shows great results pretty much right away, the products also help strengthen your hair over time. Want to take the challenge with me? Check out Living Proof on Pinterest for more tips on how to get great looks!
What do you love about Living Proof PhD? How do you get the perfect hair day?
Ooo I could use something like this! I’ll be following your progress! Keep us posted!
My goodness, with my curly hair I could absolutely use something like this. No doubt about it. I have tried several products, but the frizz? Uncontrollable!
The next time you feel frustrated with your very thick hair, just remember someone out here (ME!) is jealous of you and having thick hair. I have the complete opposite problem! I have baby fine thinner hair. My husband sweetly calls it angel hair but I hate my hair. Mine is also very straight and flat and limp so I have to curl it all over to help give it style and more volume. I daydream of what I call shampoo commercial hair!
I’m sorry! I can cut some of mine off and give it to you! I think we, as women, are never quite happy with our hair. We either want it to be thicker, thinner, straighter, curlier, wavier, etc and so on.
