Looking for a stylish alternative to flip-flops that will still keep your feet cool in the summer? Check out Mox! They’re like the fun jelly shoes of the 80s, except all grown up and restyled for the new millennium. Plus they’re a lot more comfortable!
I received a pair of Mox shoes for review in Blueberry. I went with that color because it seemed like a good match for most of my clothes while still being colorful. Mox also comes in black, red, silver and tan. I kind of want a pair in every color now! They are just that cute!
Mox Ballet Flats: The Classy Alternative to Flip Flops
Don’t get me wrong, flip-flops are great. They definitely have their place. For me, though, I have a hard time walking in them without squishing my toes together to keep them on. Does anyone else have that problem? I like summery shoes that don’t make me work so hard. Sandals, flip-flops with backs, and now my Mox!
Mox shoes are ballet flats made from 100% man made rubber. The first pair was created in Australia to give women a beautiful AND sensible shoe that could take them from work to play and through everything in between. After years of work, the team at Mox Shoes USA brought them to the US so we could enjoy them too!
The Mox ballet flats are really comfortable. They’re not a supportive shoe, but then again, neither are most flip-flops, sandals, heels and, well, pretty much every other shoe that isn’t a sneaker. The heel is padded a bit more than the rest of the shoe, which gives you a bit more support. They are super sleek and airy, so your feet can breathe all day long. They fit pretty much right out of the bag with very little “breaking in” time. After a few wears, they do mold to your foot a bit more, making them a little more comfortable. Still, I didn’t have any issues the first day I wore them. In fact, Mox shoes fit so well, you may actually forget that you’re wearing shoes at all!
The major thing that sets Mox apart from the crowd, of course, is the style! Just look at all those beautiful swirls and whirls woven into the design. It’s both a classy yet casual shoe. Worn with shorts and a t-shirt, they’re perfect for hanging out on the beach or by the pool. Throw on a skirt with your Mox and you have the ideal summer dressy shoe. Cleaning your Mox is super simple too. You can wash them with soap and water. According to the Mox FAQ, you can even shower with them! Me, I don’t shower in my shoes, but hey, it’s good to know!
Every pair of Mox shoes comes in a handy 100% cotton, biodegradable, reusable string bag. Toss your Mox in the bag and sling it over your shoulder or throw it into your beach bag. The bag is also perfect for reusing to hold produce at your local Farmer’s Market.

Those are so cute and I love how lightweight they look!
Blue is my favorite color, and these shoes look so dainty and pretty and a great shoe to wear when it is so hot outside. I think they are great to wear with a pair of shorts.
I love the style of these shoes 80, in addition to being dark stick with almost everything.
Great concept, but please don’t buy if you actually want to use them to walk in. By walk, I mean lightly potter. I had mine for 5 months and only started wearing them more regularly recently – that’s very light wear as it was just walking to the bus stop for a couple of days a week. They’ve pretty much disintegrated and now almost split in two! I’ve never purchased such a bad quality shoe in my life and I’ve bought many a super cheap shoe.
