Need a great girl’s night out? Pitch Perfect 2 is in theaters now, making it the PERFECT time to head to theaters and spend a little time with your gal pals. I love the idea behind the Pitch Perfect movies because they take the musical genre and completely spin it on its head by entwining it with hilarious comedy.

See, I’ve never been much for musicals. Sure, I performed in them in high school (in the chorus mostly), but I could never just sit and watch one. Pitch Perfect changed that by making the genre incredibly entertaining. In the second movie, we rejoin the Barden Bellas, who were totally rocking their performance for the President’s birthday bash right up until poor Amy’s wardrobe malfunction. Utterly embarrassed and ruined, the girls are banned from performing in any cappella showcase!

Of course, these girls aren’t easily deterred or defeated! They make a deal: their group gets to stay together if they can win the world a cappella tournament. Sure, no American group has EVER won, but there’s always a first time for everything, right? Will they be victorious? You’ll have to watch the movie to find out!
