Now that most college students are back in school, it’s time to start thinking about care packages! I loved getting those little boxes when I was away at college. While there are so many routes you can take, from snacks to cleaning supplies, one thing that just about every college girl needs is more skin and personal care products. It seems like we only packed enough to get us through the first month. By the time the first test comes around, we were out of our favorite lotions, conditioners and disposable shaving products!
To remedy this situation, I’ve come up with what I feel are the necessities for including in a “Beautiful You” care package for your college student!
Beautiful You Care Package for College Students
Let’s talk beauty & skin care products (one of my favorite things!). Your final choices will depend on both your budget and your college student’s personal tastes, but a few of my must-haves included:
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Schick® Disposable Razors or Refills (I picked up Shick® Quattro For Women® because they’re compact yet always get the job done right)
- Toothpaste and floss
- Lotion
- Body Wash
Fun extras include makeup, nail polish and body spray. You can add in an extra wash cloth, face towel or poofy thing (do those have a name?) too. Then just arrange it all in a nice basket (which doubles as decorative dorm room storage) and send it on its way. You can also add in some little sample sizes of different products to fill in any gaps.
Most of the items in my gift basket were purchased at Walmart. If your college student prefers specialty lotions or shampoos, I highly recommend picking up your Schick® disposable razors, makeup and other basics at Walmart. They have a huge selection and really good prices. Plus I can grab other things while I’m there, like all my groceries and pet supplies. I like one-stop shopping because I have a crazy-busy work schedule. Anything that cuts down on the amount of running around I have to do makes me happy!
Ideally, this is a great care package to send out once a month, if you’re feeling like a super generous mom. You can leave out the extra, like the nail polish and makeup every month, but I know I go through most of the other products that often! Switch it up depending on the season by including seasonally scented lotions or different colored nail polishes!
