When it comes to mysteries and romance, I usually like mine with a heavy side of paranormal, mayhem and madness. The exception? Christmas fiction! I am a complete and utter sucker for a good Christmas romance. Take a look at my TIVO right now and you’ll see at least half a dozen Hallmark Christmas movies already lined up to start watching after Thanksgiving (I have a weird rule, no Christmas movies before the turkey).
There’s just something about the magic of the holiday season that calls out to me to put down the thrillers and pick up something a little more, well, jolly! Check out a few Christmas fiction books on my to-be-read pile this year! Then tell me if you have any suggestions!

A Christmas Gift: Looks like a great short YA Christmas romance! At just 28 pages, it’s perfect for reading in one sitting when you only have a few minutes to spare. Plus it’s free on Kindle! Can’t beat that! I also checked out Wilkinson’s author page, she has a lot of free books, including plenty of great supernatural reads. I grabbed a bunch!
Holly and Caleb had been best friends as children, growing up on the same street, but as teenagers they couldn’t be further apart. When Caleb unexpectedly asked Holly to help him pick out a Christmas gift for his girlfriend, neither of them anticipated where it would lead.
Right Under Your Nose: A Christmas Story: In this novella, Ariadne Daniels seems to have it all, including a great boyfriend. Then one day she stops by to surprise him and finds out he’s cheating on her. So she falls into a slump and decides to skip Christmas. But a meddling new friend at a local bookstore helps her ho-hum holiday plans on their head. This one is just $0.99 cents on Kindle, or free for Kindle Unlimited users.
Coming Home for Christmas: Great reviews on this one! Amazon describes it as “a beautifully observed story about the importance of family, the magic of Christmas, and falling in love one snowflake at a time.” At 306 pages, it’s a full-length novel. It’s just $2.99 on Amazon Kindle (free for Kindle Unlimited).
Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses: Single mom meets cute rich guy who doesn’t really like Christmas, but still needs his house decorated. Money is no object. Sounds like a great gig! Except the guy is sort of a pain, and Abbey is a bit more than a little out of her element. Can she make her dreams of being a designer come true? And can she help Nick to finally enjoy the magic of Christmas? Find out in this feel-good Christmas romance! It’s 360 pages long and just $2.99 on Amazon Kindle.
Bella’s Christmas Bake Off: One reviewer said she literally choked with laughter, so this one promises to be a real feel-good Christmas story! The tagline is “Two best friends. One big lie. The best bake-off ever!” Sounds like it’s going to be a fun one! At $2.99 on Kindle for 316 pages, you can’t go wrong!
These five cute Christmas romances should get us all feeling the holiday magic, don’t you think?
