Every year, we host a huge family Christmas party at my house. Since we live smack in the middle of most of my family, it just makes the most sense to hold it here. While I love that I don’t have to drive anywhere for our annual gathering, it definitely adds a ton of stress to an already busy schedule when it’s time to start cleaning!
My mom lives with me and she doesn’t feel the house is truly clean unless it looks like a staged model home! Seriously, you’d think no one lived here by the time she’s done. Me? I’m content to just straighten up the main areas, chuck everything else in my room and shut the door. It makes for some difficult days leading up to our parties.
The biggest challenge comes when it’s time to clean the floors. With three dogs, cats, and a 10-year-old boy, they get pretty messy! Most women love shoes or new scarves. My mom gets super excited over new vacuums. When we received the Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium Ion Brushroll Clean Xtra for review, she was ready to try it out before the delivery man even had it on our doorstep!
The Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium Ion Brushroll Clean Xtra
Electrolux is a name I trust when it comes to vacuums. My gran had one of their vacuums for decades, so I know they last! In fact, I’m pretty sure we still have that old Electrolux somewhere in our family! The Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium Ion Brushroll Clean Xtra isn’t your grandmother’s vacuum, though. It’s super sleek, super stylish and actually fun to use!
The Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium is a fabulous stick vacuum cleaner with a detachable handheld unit, so it’s like having two vacuums in one. It’s designed for bare floors, making it perfect for my kitchen/dining room and my bathrooms. The 180° EasySteerTM is one of my favorite features. It makes the vacuum feel like it’s steering itself, almost intuitively going where you need it to go. Did Electrolux find a way to put mind-reader tech into their vacuums? That would be pretty cool!
See those pretty LED lights on the front? I can actually see what I’m vacuuming when I’m trying to get under tables and counters in my house. You can also see the swivel action happening there.
The handheld unit is light enough for me to reach it up over my head to suck up those dust bunnies and cobwebs that lurk in all the corners. I’m short at about 5′ 2″. As you can see, the handle and overall length of the unit is long enough for me to still reach the corners of my ceiling. I am standing on my tippy toes there, but not to the point of falling over. I can comfortable clean the cobwebs without too much strain.
Inside the Electrolux Ergorapido resides a lithium ion battery, hence the “lithium” part of the Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium Ion Brushroll Clean Xtra name. More precisely, it’s a Lithium TurboPower Battery, meaning it charges faster and lasts longer. The vacuum came with enough charge out of the box to try it out, but we put it on the charger right after anyway. The Electrolux stands on its own, so it doesn’t need a base. Just plug in the charger, pop your vacuum in an out-of-the-way spot and let it go.
Finally, we have the “Brushroll” part of the name. The Electrolux actually has a self-cleaning brushroll. If you get hair or other gunk tangled up in there, just push the button and it will come undone. Pretty handy considering I’ve spent way too much time trying to unwind stuff from my vacuums in the past!
All this and it’s bagless! I love that I don’t have to buy anything else to go with my Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium. I just empty the dirt canister when it gets full. Since it’s so lightweight, it’s also easy to pull out when the cats are done eating their catnip, Jake spills cereal on the floor, or my dog sheds a giant lump of fur. We can clean in little spurts, rather than hauling out a beast and cleaning for hours all at once.
