Guess what? It’s ice-cream season at Dunkin’ Donuts! Those delicious Baskin-Robbins inspired flavors are back and they brought a new friend, Pistachio. I love trying new flavors of coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts, and I have to say, Pistachio is quite a surprise! I’ve had just about every other nut-flavored coffee before, but never thought of trying out a pistachio flavor. Who would have thought? It’s the perfect flavor combination!

Pistachio joins other delicious ice-cream inspired flavors at Dunkin’ Donuts

So here’s the scoop (pun totally intended): Dunkin’ Donuts first introduced ice-cream flavors inspired by their sister company, Baskin Robbins, back in 2013. My favorite has always been Cookie Dough, but Butter Pecan was an interesting combination too. The flavors popped back into stores on February 29th and they’ll be available all throughout spring.

I had such a hard time deciding which way to try it first. I ended up going with hot, although I’ll be going back for an iced-coffee later tonight! I drink Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee at least twice a week throughout the warmer months. I have the Dunkin’ Mobile App, which makes it easy to load up my Dunkin’ Donuts cards and earn rewards. I usually save up my free beverage rewards for the really fancy drinks, like their delicious new macchiatos.

The Pistachio iced coffee is delicious! Just the right combination of sweet and nutty. I usually mix and match flavors, even the seasonal flavors. Like, when it’s pumpkin season, I go for mocha pumpkin. Last year, I drank a lot of Mocha Cookie Dough coffees. Okay, so basically, I add Mocha to everything! I decided to try out the Pistachio alone though and it was fantastic. I’m trying to decide what I should mix it with next time, because even though it stands alone fantastically, I just really like that I can create my own coffee combinations at Dunkin’ Donuts and no one looks at me funny there.

Did you know that you can actually come up with over 15,000 ways to order coffees and lattes at Dunkin’ Donuts throughout the year? I don’t think even I’ve worked my way through that many combinations! Their regular flavors include: Mocha, Caramel, Blueberry, Cinnamon, Coconut, French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Raspberry and Toasted Almond, plus all their seasonal flavors. My favorite combinations include Mocha Caramel, Mocha Toasted Almond and Cinnamon Hazelnut.

Have Ice-Cream with your Breakfast!

With the new ice-cream flavors, like Pistachio, you can have ice-cream with your breakfast and not feel guilty! I’m a super fan of Dunkin’ Donuts breakfast sandwiches. Years ago, when I went away to college for a semester, I lived on their croissants with egg and cheese. Nearly two decades later, that classic is still my go-to comfort food. It’s one of the only things I’ll eat when I’m feeling stressed or under the weather. I rarely actually get there during the breakfast hours, though. Thankfully, Dunkin’ Donuts serves their full menu all day long, every day.

I also have to thank Dunkin’ Donuts for getting my son to expand his palate. He’s an incredibly picky eater, but one day he tried a bacon grilled cheese sandwich when he was out with a friend. He’s been crazy about them ever since. Before that, he never would have touched bacon on a grilled cheese. This actually encouraged him to start trying other things, because he figures he liked that, maybe he really will like all the things he’s been refusing to try for so long.
