They know it’s not all roses and sunshine (and they KNOW roses!). Being a mom is awesome, but it’s also one of the hardest jobs on the planet. Much like gardeners and botanists are responsible for breathing life into tiny seeds and growing them into brilliant blooms, each one of us is responsible for taking our own tiny “seedling” and raising him or her into a fully functioning, happy, healthy adult. We have to get down in the dirt sometimes to make it happen.

Tough Moms Deserve Flowers

Teleflora’s One Tough Mother campaign focuses on the grittier side of motherhood, a side I think we can all relate to pretty well! As a mom to a son, I can literally relate to the “down in the dirt” side of motherhood! This is one of my favorite pictures of the “grittier” side of parenting:

Jacob playing in mud

I don’t think that’s what they’re referring to, though. They’re talking about the “blood, sweat and tears” that we put into raising our kids to be their best selves. Considering Jacob’s birth story, I feel like I put in a lifetime of blood and tears in just the first few minutes of his life. He was born via emergency c-section at 32 weeks. As if that’s not challenging enough, he was full breech, the cord wrapped around his upper arm and they snapped his little bone pulling him out.  I thought I still had close to two months to prepare for motherhood and here I was with an itty bitty wounded preemie. I had no choice but to be a tough mother for him.

This Mother’s Day, what better way to say thank you to your own tough mother than with flowers? Why flowers? Because, like moms, they’re both tough and delicate, strong and beautiful. When you give your mom a flower gift from Teleflora, you’re also giving her something that lasts long after the blooms fade.

My favorite 2016 Mother’s Day gift from Teleflora- the Love and Joy Bouquet- arrived hand-delivered from one of my local florists. I picked that one because I knew my mom would really love the vase. Roses are particularly meaningful to her and my aunts. It’s their symbol, how they’ll recognize each other if they ever reincarnate and get separated.

Teleflora has four other beautiful new flower gifts for mom this year too. I almost picked the Butterfly Sunrise Bouquet because it comes with a big, beautiful mug. I do love my coffee!

Isn’t it pretty? They also have a lovely bouquet in a garden pitcher for all you tough gardening moms, as well as two other bouquets in different vases. Check out all their Mother’s Day gifts and pick the perfect bouquet for your mom! Prices start at $39.95. Of course, if you don’t absolutely love any of those options, they have tons of other great bouquets in heirloom-quality vases.
