Along with being a multiple award winning artist, American Idol winner, and mother of two, singing sensation Kelly Clarkson has now written her first children’s book. River Rose and the Magical Lullaby
released earlier this month as well as an adorable River Rose and the Magical Lullaby Plush Doll, and we got a chance to see it first!

If you’ve had a chance to catch Kelly on morning talk shows or follow her on social media, you know that River Rose is her daughter. I have to be honest, I geeked out quite a bit when I read this hand-written note she included with our doll and book for review. Even little River Rose jotted down a couple of things!
Now, let’s check out this book and doll, shall we?
River Rose and the Magical Lullaby is of course about a little girl by the same name. River Rose is much too excited to fall asleep the night before a big day at the zoo. Her mother helps her slip into dreamland with a soothing lullaby. This book comes with a nice hardcover and includes 32 pages of River Rose’s adventure as she dances and plays with animals. My kids really liked the rhyming format of this book. The colorful illustrations really add to its enchanting nature as well!
The River Rose plush doll is pretty cute. She wears a pink dress with tiny rose buds and green striped tights. The blonde yarn-like hair and soft rosy cheeks remind me of the dolls I grew up with. It’s a simple design that makes it great for little ones to grab and snuggle. Even at 5 years old, my sweet Violet still asks for music or soothing sounds when she’s having a hard time getting to sleep. She really likes having River Rose to cuddle with and play the lullaby. The lullaby, sung by Kelly Clarkson, is clear and audible. I was really impressed with how nice is sounds coming from the doll.

I bought this for my granddaughter when it first came out and now she won’t sing what can I do please she cries because she can’t hear her sing
Awww now I want one for my little sweet pea that will be here in January!! My son has a little doll he carries with him every where but I haven’t gotten one for our daughter yet. We were gonna wait til she was born, but now I might go ahead and grab this one up!!

I had no idea Kelly Clarkson had written a book. What a sweet tribute to her daughter. It will also make a nice gift to give a little one this holiday season. I love the personalized note she wrote.

It’s so nice that Kelly Clarkson is releasing a book for kids. I’m sure it’s wonderful! I love giving books as gifts to the kids because it encourages them to read, I am definitely checking this out.

Kelly- I bought your River Rose doll for my granddaughter before she was born. Bailey is 13 months old now I would love to have the book that goes with the doll can’t seem to locate one. She loves River Rose! You did a wonderful job with the song and the doll! I’ve been a fan of yours since you won American Idol.
