This Veteran’s Day, spend the afternoon letting your kids be kids AND unleashing your own inner children at Chuck E. Cheese’s! To celebrate and thank our service members of the past and present, Chuck E. Cheees’s is offering one free personal pizza to all active and retired members of the military on November 11th. I’ll share more details about that in a minute, but first, check out all the fun we had on our recent visit to Chuck E. Cheese’s!
Chuck E. Cheese’s is fun for ALL ages!
We’ve been fans of Chuck E. Cheese’s since Jacob was a toddler. I remember taking him there for the first time and watching his eyes light up over the singing animatronic characters on the stage. Even now that he’s a tween, he still gets crazy excited about going. I told him on a Tuesday that we’d be heading up on Saturday. He asked every single day if we were still going. He loves playing the games and winning tickets to redeem for prizes (although he made his dad and I feed the Ticket Muncher, since he was too busy earning more tickets!)
Last week, Jake, my husband and I took a trip down to our local Chuck E. Cheese’s. My husband is a veteran of both the Navy and the Army. We met up with my friend Dana and her one-year-old toddler, Penelope. Basically, we ranged in age from 1-41, and every one of us had a blast.
We ordered their new Thin & Crispy Pizza, and Jake actually sat down to eat it as soon as it arrived. Usually, he runs off and I have to beg him to stop for two seconds and take a bite.
I’ve always liked Chuck E. Cheese’s pizza, but I really love the newest incarnation! The crust is delicious and so full of flavor. Jake got mad when I ate some of his! He usually leaves it behind, I didn’t know that he wanted it!
After lunch, Jake and Rich went off in one direction to play games while I waited for my friend to arrive with the baby. It was the weekend before Halloween, so little P. came dressed up as a ladybug. Isn’t she adorable?
I let Dana eat while I took Penelope out to play. She kept leading me back to the rides, of course. She didn’t want them to go so much as she just wanted to hug and kiss the characters (don’t worry, I sat her down and buckled her in during the times that the ride was actually moving, I do remember how to keep a toddler safe, even after all these years!).
When the Big Cheese himself made an appearance, all the kids went nuts. Penelope loves to see him…from about 5 feet away. She just stood and stared at him, but when we tried to take her closer, she looked at us like we were nuts. That’s okay, though, he did have quite the crowd surrounding him!
Jake even managed to get some exercise while we were there! This game looks like a giant hamster wheel and encourages kids to run for tickets. It’s actually a very clever way to encourage kids to get active. Anything that gets our kids moving is good in my book.
All in all, we had a fabulous family day at Chuck E. Cheese’s. With the weather turning colder by the day, we’ll definitely be going back a few times during the season. I love that we don’t have to spend a fortune to have fun. While I did receive a guest pass for the pizza as part of this post, I also bought 100 tokens for $20. We all played for 3 hours on that $20. You really can’t beat that! I always visit the Chuck E. Cheese’s website before I go to print out coupons.
If you haven’t been to Chuck E. Cheese’s in a while, they no longer use tokens in the games. I was surprised by this. Instead, they give you a Play Pass card and load all your “tokens” onto that. I really love that they did this because you don’t have to tote around buckets of tokens anymore. No more worrying about dumping them or leaving them behind. They’ll divide the credits up however you want on as many cards as you need for your family. You can reload the card at the register or at one of the machines throughout the store. If you do have tokens left from another trip (Dana did), just take them up to the register to add them to a Play Pass.

Looks like a fun day with the family! We went to Chuck E Cheeses last year! It was so much indoor fun! Thank you for sharing your exciting day!
What a nice place!!! Great concept by Chuck E. Cheese’s, you (family) get to eat delicious pizzas and kids can likewise have fun playing games. What a great way to enjoy family outing.
I absolutely love Chuck E. Cheese! I went a lot as a kid. Unfortunately we live in a small enough area where we have none of them near by. I would love to take my kids someday.
You should whenever you get a chance, because they also need to experience your childhood memories 🙂
This looks like a fun place for kids and family. The cheese pizza looks yummy!
this is a good blog
I really loved Chuck E Cheese as a kid, it was so much fun. I recently took my trio there and they had a blast!
Chucky Cheese! This is so nostalgic! I remember having so much fun there. That pizza looks awesome btw!
This is one of our all time favorite places to go. We’re planing a few trips to Chuck E. Cheese over the holidays.
That sounds like a lot of fun for the kids! I think it’s a great way to celebrate Veterans day especially since you’re going to be with family.
Oh yeah, i did hear Chuck E Cheese was doing something for Veteran’s Day. I ‘m glad for the reminder!
We don’t have plans for Veteran’s Day.I remember when my oldest was young, he loved going to Chuck E Cheese.
A fun read and from a historical perspective I’d not thought of before.
this great article and for shedding some light in yet another influence in rock and roll. The great thing about jug band music is that anybody could play it (or at least try to play it). It didn´t involve spending large amounts of money to acquire instruments and equipment, and that spread to rock and roll ..https://goo.gl/3
This article exposes their influences. Time to get listening !
