If you think the Sands Bethlehem is just a casino, think again! It’s actually an incredible place to take the entire family on a vacation, offering something for every single age group. With Spring Break coming up (especially for those of within driving distance, since our schools are off during Easter break) and summer vacation getting closer by the second, now is the perfect time to explore everything Sands has to offer!
5 Reasons to Visit Sands Bethlehem With Your Family
Sands Bethlehem is located in, as the name implies, Bethlehem, a part of the Lehigh Valley in Northeast Pennsylvania. It’s about a half an hour away from my home in the Poconos. It’s also just outside Philadelphia (when I travel to Philly, I think of the LV as kind of a bridge area to the city) and super close to NYC, plus pretty much every major city in NJ. The whole NY/NJ/PA tristate area just kind of blends into each other, making Sands Bethlehem a relatively short drive from several major cities (including as far south as Baltimore).
Amazing Shopping
Let’s start with one of my favorite features: The Outlets at Sands Bethlehem! If you love shopping, you’ll absolutely adore the outlets. It’s PA’s newest outlet shopping center and they really went all out with tons of stores offering designer items at a fraction of the designer prices. Find everything from Coach to Calvin Klein to The Old Farmer’s Almanac General Store. They constantly have amazing sales going on, so you can stock up on everything from summer fashions to back to school gear.
If you head to Sands Bethlehem before Easter, check out the Easter Bunny Photos set at The Outlets. The set is open through April 15th, 2017: Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm; Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Fabulous Food
Sands Bethlehem is a foodie’s dream come true! From fabulous family-style dining like Buddy V’s Ristorante to the tastes of the famous chef Emeril, the hardest part is deciding where to eat first! For dessert lovers (like me), you absolutely have to try Carlo’s Bakery! The family-owned bakery is so good, it was featured on Cake Boss! Sands Bethlehem also has NY-style delis, classic Asian restaurants, and an entire stand dedicated to filled-to-order croissants
Oodles of Activities for Kids
If you’re thinking that a vacation destination most well-known for its casino doesn’t have much for kids to do, you haven’t seen what Sands Bethlehem has in store for your little ones! They offer fabulous entertainment for kids from tots to teens. Kids up to age 12 will love Kids Quest, an interactive playground filled to the brim with exciting activities. Your children can climb a rock wall, sing karaoke, play the latest video games and create arts and crafts that you’ll treasure forever. Be sure to check out the Grossology Science Weekends throughout April!
They even have a Tiny Tot room for babies! For an hourly fee, you can drop your kids off in the safe environment while you enjoy a little fun and relaxation on your own. Older kids can hang out at Cyber Quest and play non-violent video games using preloaded cards (so you don’t have to worry about them losing cash).
Ultimate Relaxation for Mom & Dad
While the kids are hanging out at Kids Quest, head over to the Steel Magnolia Spa & Salon at The Outlets at Sands Bethlehem for the ultimate in relaxation. Right now, you can even enjoy 50% off a Classic Manicure with a Spa Pedicure service. Is there anything more relaxing on a family vacation than a spa day? If listening to music is more your idea of relaxation, there’s always something playing at The ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Café on the Sands campus!
Super Close to Tons of Other Fun Attractions!
While there is plenty to do within the Sands Bethlehem campus, even more fun awaits within a short drive! The Lehigh Valley has a ton of attractions that are perfect for the whole family, fun amusement parks to art museums. Even just strolling around downtown Bethlehem is an event. I suggest taking the Old Bethlehem Walking Tour to really get a feel for the historic area. If you want to spend a day exploring nature, the Poconos are just a quick away. Seriously, you could hop on 22 and be in the middle of nature within a few exits, or take it to 33 and get into the heart of the region.
