So you’ve watched Grey’s Anatomy so many times by now that you think you could probably pull off a solo surgery without any medical training, right? Well, now you can prove it with Operate Now! I am fascinated by medical games. The moment I got my iPhone, I downloaded that one popular surgery game that everyone has. I failed miserably, mostly because there was absolutely nothing realistic about it. Then a press release about Operate Now popped into my inbox, promising a “graphic insight into what it feels liek to be a surgeon…” AND it’s free! So I’m checking it out!

Operate Now: The Game That Puts You In Charge of Lives!

Operate Now Let’s You Be the Surgeon

Here’s what you need to know about Operate Now:

Gamers get a graphic insight into what it feels like to be a surgeon in this simulation game. But the hospital itself is at risk… they also need to build a team and enhance its reputation, if it is to survive.

And as if that wasn’t already dramatic enough, emotions are running high…  is paramedic James strong enough to handle things when his tragic history seems certain to repeat itself?  How will surgeon Sirona cope with her family crisis? Chief-of-Surgery Noah Stone has a secret — will it bring down the whole hospital?

It’s just like your favorite TV hospital drama, but it is you who is calling the shots:

•   Optimizing hospital resources and staff to create a world-class medical institution

•   Dealing with the everyday human drama that goes hand-in-hand with running a hospital

•   Performing complex operations

Medical Fun Facts Infographic

To celebrate the release of Operate Now, here are a few medical fun facts that even I didn’t know! Hey, I spend a lot of time reading up on both normal and weird medical trivia.
Operate Now: The Game That Puts You In Charge of Lives!

I think of all those facts, the one that really stands out to me is how every two seconds, someone needs blood. It’s an important reminder to donate if you can, isn’t it? That’s 43,200 people a day (if my math is right, someone may want to check it but I used a calculator so I think it is), and over 15.7 million people a year! The most shocking fact? Bagel related injuries! Seriously? Well, then again, my mom did once cut herself on a bagel slicer.

Operate Now is available now on both iOS and Android. Give it a try and see if you have what it takes to save lives under pressure! I’ll let you know how I do!
