I am a huge fan and supporter of indie and self-published authors. Since starting this blog and letting writers know that I review indie books, I’ve discovered so many awesome writers out there who, for whatever reason, decided to forgo the traditional book publishing route and go the self-publishing route. Someday, when I actually have time to finish my own novel, I’ll most likely be going this route.
The thing about self-publishing is that formatting your awesome story for print and e-book distribution can be a pain in the butt. I know, because my mom recently self-published a collection of remedies for dry hair, and since I live with her, I could hear her cursing and yelling about itty-bitty issues that took hours to resolve. After spending weeks, months, or years writing your novel, you really want to make sure it’s readable by others. That’s where Letterpress Revolution comes in. They’ll format your book for print, e-readers, or both. They can optimize your file for Kindle or iPad as well. If you need help with designing a cover, they can also handle that. Letterpress Revolution offers reasonable rates for their services. I compared them against other places offering the same services before agreeing to do this giveaway, and I think they’re very fair. You can get the print/e-book formatting bundle for $120, which is awesome considering the two services separately are $100 each. Best of all, they’re extremely easy to work with. I think that’s really important when you’re an author getting ready to hand over what is basically your “baby” or a small piece of your soul. You want to know that it will be in good hands, and that someone will be there to take the time to answer any questions or deal with any issues that arise.
Letterpress Revolution is offering up a complete full-pass package to one self-published writer. This includes formatting and cover work for both print and e-book. The total value of the package is about $170. To enter, fill out the information on the Rafflecopter form. The mandatory entry will be to leave a comment either with a link to your writing (samples, blog about your books, Good Reads profile, or anything else you have online that relates to your work) or, if you don’t have anything online, just write a sentence or two about yourself and your writing. The other entries are optional. Winner will be chosen randomly through the Rafflecopter widget.
Giveaway ends on 10/06/11 at 11:59 PM. Winner will be notified on 10/7 and has 48 hours to reply to my email. If you have any problems using the Rafflecopter form, please let me know in a comment and I will add your entries for you.
