A major part of any diet, including the Nutrisystem Success For Women plan, is drinking plenty water. The plan comes with a great water bottle to encourage you to drink more, but sometimes even having the water right next to you all day isn’t enough to keep you hydrated properly. Whether you’re a stay at home mom, work outside the house super-professional, or something in between, we all lead very busy lives. Drinking enough water often falls way down on our lists of priorities. Here are a few tips to help you reach your daily water intake needs. I need to take my own advice and follow them, because this is still one area that I have trouble with.
Tips to Increase Your Water Intake
- Schedule your water breaks. If you’re like me, you don’t reach for a drink until you’re already parched, which means you’re dehydrating yourself on a pretty regular basis. Set an alarm and chug a glass of water when it goes off. Do this until you learn to drink your water on a regular schedule like a good girl.
- Add some flavor. Except for rare occasions when I’m dying of thirst, I am not a fan of plain water. It makes me feel sick to my stomach sometimes. I add lemon juice (fresh or bottled, depending on what I have on hand), but you can add pretty much any calorie-free, sugar-free flavor enhancer.
- Relax with herbal tea.Herbal tea counts as a calorie-free, sugar-free enhancer, by the way. Well, as long as you don’t add stuff to it, like sugar or cream. Tons of herbal teas taste perfect without any additives, to sip up! It counts as part of your water intake!
- Drink water to combat cravings. Every time you crave something you know you’re not supposed to have, drink a big glass of water. It’ll fill you up, and acts as a reminder that you’re supposed to be eating healthier.
I also wanted to let you know that I’ve lost about 17 pounds on the Nutrisystem diet. Then I fell off the wagon for about a week and gained back 2. Still, I’m down 15 pounds, so that’s still pretty good for me!
